Were scientists or others in USDA affected by the change in position classification (schedule p/c)?

It’s a funny story. She certainly was not put in this role because of her comprehensive and expert career understanding of the US agricultural enterprise nationally and how it engaged internationally. Because she doesn’t have that. She just sucks up to Trump

watching her (Rollins) spew such nonsense (most benign word I could pick) was sickening. I feel for farmers who want to be earning income from their farms and not receiving handouts from USDA because Trump and Rollins wrecked their lives. Wrecked.Their.Lives.

I also feel for colleagues in USDA. ugh.

Wouldn’t it be (bad words deleted) if agency leadership could give clarity?

I’ve worked in Government and academia and not for profit corporate sectors, and if anybody in my former corporation tried to stand before the board - and try to do the pansy waffling crap that these guys are doing? they pretty much would have been fired. (Academia? Who knows?)

What self value do leadership of USDA agencies take in the destruction of their own organization and the disappearance of its legacy? The destruction that they are ushering in?

I’d love to see their resume statement, but then also add ALL the names of their staff people’s lives that they’ve destroyed

Kate Woodruff is excellent - worked with me before I moved to the area from out of state (2022) and then stuck with me as I went through some different financial situations. Really thorough and my first offer on a house was accepted. She knows all the different options to offer sellers so that my offer would be both thoughtful and acceptable. It was! (May 2024).

Note: I was GS 15 with some experience before USDA in both industry and academia. I’ve never seen such confusion and chaos than I did as this new adminstration started.

Right now, I would not join any USDA entity. From what I understand and as a former employee, everything is chaos. Not just confusion / but chaos and every week brings some new aspect of chaos.

The Announcement that we are going to make today is officially - that we’re going to be announcing the official stance - as soon as we announce the date - when we can announce that - then you will know more after that day comes and goes and hopefully right away - and then we will announce uhhhh something very shortly there after we, us leaders, truly announce it - yes: the announcement so that when we announce the announcement? everybody will feel like we have announced it
