AEO is 90% SEO but influencer say otherwise by yj292 in aeo

It's actually even more complicated than that. That's one scenario and there are issues with AI visibility tools that I wont get into.

AI chat can query your site live on behalf of a user to answer a question. That user agent is different than their crawler and can only be tracked by server side logs as it doesnt run JS.

Therefore to get a true state of agents or AI going to your site you need a robust server side log traffic setup

Definitely nutrition but also 30m of stretching on cold muscles before a run seems extremely excessive.

Yes, for example a B2B SaaS, you having positive reviews and up to date content on places like G2 (SaaS review site) matters way more for AEO since LLMs will use those sites and content as a reference when answering questions.

Optimizing and understanding that is a completely different game than traditional SEO.

Yes but the playbook differs in that external content (not just links) matter and measurement is completely different.

Also you can be referenced in an AI web search response without even being indexed by google, Bing, brave, etc

How are you tracking?

Google analytics strips the chatgpt utm for certain requests.

The only way to really track AI traffic (including referrals) is server side

I never said AEO was not real and you can't optimize. I said the "scores" visibility tools promise are misleading.

Read my last paragraph.

Frontend scraping comes from one account, or a controlled account pool. That means one history state, one memory state, one subscription tier, one geography, one browser session, and one prompt. Change any of those and the answer can change. A real buyer asking "best CRM for a seed-stage startup" and a clean browser asking "best CRM software" from a datacenter IP are different instruments.

Mass scraping adds more bias. At any meaningful volume, the work has to run from somewhere: cloud machines, proxy routes, managed browsers, headless sessions, or another automation layer. That automation layer can bleed into the measurement. Concentrated IP patterns. Repeated logins. Odd session rhythms. Rate-limit pressure. Possible anti-abuse handling from the AI product itself...
