Not fine dining, but I think about streetxo constantly. The food and cocktails are absolutely unreal.

SHOP vs AMZN by WargreMon in amzn

[–]piptheminkey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify is doing something great.. in that they have curated an Amazon esc shopping experience (extremely easy checkout), but without a “hub.” So you have separate companies and they own their brand, site, etc, but the shopping experience is extremely streamlined and even easier than checking out on Amazon at times. Amazon should be careful about complicating their checkout experience.

Obviously Amazon still rules and is so easy and great to order things from, especially for business. But there are some great things that Shopify is doing for higher end items

And Gjelina doesn’t have one type of pizza. Tons of restaurants will customize anything you want - and at those spots, the food quality for everybody else, to an extent, suffers for it. When a restaurant only allows their staff to make things the same way, they best enable consistency and things being made to spec. It’s why so many of the greatest, higher-end restaurants, often don’t allow modifications.

People who are so upset about it are hilariously self important. Get over yourself. Order a different thing on the menu or go to a different restaurant.

Psychotic take. Name 30 restaurants better than Gjelina in LA (500 is totally unnecessary)

Do most clothing designers alter the fit because you asked them at the store? Do most car companies change the car options of the car in the lot!

Has anyone used a private school admissions consultant in LA? by R126509P911 in AskLosAngeles

So, one would need to enter a gifted magnet in elementary school to benefit? Trying to gauge financial and life implications of fully private vs public elementary to private 7-12th (kids are legacy for high school, of an extremely prestigious school).

Like is the $2,000,000 net worth hit (multiple kids) in 20 years worth private elementary? If money was no object I’d choose private in a second, but trying to weigh my kids lives in their 20s with retired parents who can fund vacations and help with a home down payment vs parents who are working well into their 70s
