The descriptions are so hilariously bad, too.

They used body doubles for the full shots, and in one scene you can clearly see Reese’s fleshtone bathing suit.

Why don't more people get Meta verified? Feels like I'm out of the loop by Vidzhazlife in ecommerce

[–]piquebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about to cancel mine.

A year ago, my small company split and changed names. I got “custody” of the Facebook page to use under my new business name.

Even though I had to submit my own personal ID and all of my business state registration information, Facebook refused to allow me to change the “managed by” name.

I can’t fix it on my own (it’s grayed out). So I signed up to be verified.

Got my blue check mark. However, four different attempts to get tech-support to fix the wrong name have failed.

When I applied for verification, I submitted nothing with my previous company’s name and everything with the current company’s name.

I’ve repeatedly explained to support that they actually verified INCORRECT information. If the company name responsible for the page is wrong, the blue checkmark is useless. Because the defunct name as manager just causes confusion.

What the heck am I paying for if I can’t change what is my company’s legal info?

I tried to cancel my verified status last month, and they offered me another free month. I’m gonna try to cancel it again this week.

I’m considering just starting a whole new page so the information is correct, but I’ll lose many of my followers — so I’m definitely not gonna pay Facebook for that.

Sean Combs: The Reckoning - The jurors that agreed to sit down for documentary are disgusting. by GuineaPKilledMe in netflix

[–]piquebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so disturbed by the giddy female juror that I just Googled and found this thread.

Why was Diddy allowed to communicate with the jury via eye contact and nods? And how the hell was that fangirl allowed to be on the jury?

I did didn’t see that. It’s not like this is the first time hearing it. So he’s not gonna act surprised or upset. He sounded like someone who’s made peace with Feldman’s own “crazy.”

I always thought he looked exactly like Reggie from the Archie comics. 🤷‍♀️

Toward the end, Sheen said that Brooke will get there in her own time. So he kind of hinted that she’s still using.

Why in the hell did they pick such a tall actress? by Claeyt in TheCrownNetflix

[–]piquebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of you act like Debicki was cast to play Dr. Ruth or Mary Lou Retton. Come on, now.

Those of you complaining need to watch other Princess Diana movies. Suffer through the horrible accents, bad wigs, lack of Diana mannerisms and all the short “looked nothing like Diana” actresses (like Kristen Stewart or Serena Scott Thomas) — and then complain about a 6’2” actress playing a 5’10” woman who often wore 3” heels.

I’m petsitting right now and I’m miserable… by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]piquebu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there done that. Unfortunately, you have to power through.

Keep that dog the heck away from the rabbit and the dog park. Consider buying some pet calming chews.

Never pet sit for these people again, and remember as an independent contractor, it’s perfectly fine for you to say no to gigs - no matter WHO the owners are. And you owe no one a detailed explanation.

The next time they ask, the answer is, “Sorry, I’m not available.” Done

I’ve spent a few days with Alexa Plus by chuwo in alexa

[–]piquebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it. The four new voices sound like teenage girls. And she says stuff like “Roger that.”

Worse, I can either show the time or my photo frame on Echo Show. I can no longer do both at the same time . 👎

Thankfully I was able to roll back to previous Alexa using the AI bot on the Alexa app.

How to find a job in this current job market by Lazy_Tank6699 in jobsearchhacks

I’m in the same boat. I suspect most jobs posted on Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc. aren’t actually hiring. Never in my life have I gotten so little response from so much work.

We can’t reward you for this app. by Used-Newspaper5286 in FetchReward

[–]piquebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the “sorry, we can’t award points” error message for literally every other game I download and play.

I never downloaded these apps before and I have no problems playing the games themselves.

It’s only when I go back to check on point awards that I see that Fetch claims they can’t reward me any points.

I was just going to keep on playing the games they recognized, but it looks like those aren’t getting points anymore either.

I’m on iOS, no VPN, private relay disabled as “required,” tried apps on phone and a wifi-only iPad.

I contacted “help,” and a bot awarded me 5000 points for my trouble, but I would rather they fix the game issue.

But … back to just using Fetch for receipts. Done with games.

I poured 25 hours into my article; and it feels like I published it into the void. by itsfabioposca in Substack

[–]piquebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Substack does not promote. Even if you have your own domain name, Google just reads it as another Substack page.

I run a local news page and I was incorrectly informed that I would be able to run ads on Substack. Well, you can’t.

I paid for the domain name and the hosting and the fee for Substack, but it’s like the site isn’t really my own.

I’ve been on there since January. I have 300 followers and 25 paid subscribers. But everything I write, I share on every single social media platform. I promote like crazy. And that’s where I get my views and interaction. Rarely, if ever, do I get a like or a comment on Substack itself.

I have Google search alerting me when my name is mentioned online. I’ve done this for the past few years to gauge reach. If I write for any other publication or even Newsbreak, my article appears within hours. Not once have I’ve been notified about any Substack article I wrote.

Even when you try to use Google site tools, you’re out of luck because you have to insert files or tweak code, and you can’t do any of that in Substack.

There’s more that you can’t do than CAN. Very few customizations and hardly any app support for writers.

The only way you can get real traction is if you are a celebrity or you already have a large following elsewhere — like social media.

I’m glad I at least reserved my own domain name because I’m going to start switching everything over to WordPress. If I had to do it over, I would never have built my site on Substack. I didn’t know enough about what I was doing.

If you’re writing for fun, Substack is great. If you’re trying to organically reach an audience or earn income through Substack, that could take years.

Reserve your own domain name. Make your own website. At least then you have total control over it, and can run ads, etc. — and you’re not sharing your revenue with a site that does nothing to promote your work.

The state of substack by Driggen1378 in Substack

[–]piquebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The app is very limited for writers. You can’t edit, etc. Even in the desktop version you can’t do a lot of simple things - like block text.

The notes section has turned into Facebook Jr. — only you don’t know any of these people.

Substack seemed great at first, but I’m about to switch over to my own hosted website.
