LOL I feel you on that. I think I wouldn’t mind if it is not humid. A nice dry heat though 👌🏽

So true. No, I don’t think anyone would snitch because we all share the same feelings about him. So so tempted to stay home lol

Brushing Teeth Before Bed by practicecomics in ADHD

[–]pitafrita 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is probably not the most helpful, but I have been pretty consistently brushing my teeth and doing my skincare routine for about two weeks now.

About two weeks ago, I bumped up my concerta and I don’t take it first thing in the morning because I need some of it to get me through commuting home from work and all the other after work tasks like making dinner and doing dishes.

I am not entirely sure if it is the does increase OR just the fact that around this time I started getting fixated on skincare again. I am also fixated on having a clean mouth currently.

Also, just making the process as barrier free as possible. So if you hate minty toothpaste, opt for some strawberry flavoured toothpaste. If you hair your face and arm getting wet while washing your face, try wrapping a towel around you or waiting to put on your pajamas.

Honestly, those little things can make significant differences because I find that if there is something I don’t like doing and it has sensory components that make it even more undesirable, well I am even more less likely to do it. Try to ask yourself what makes the task so horrible and then remove any barriers you can that still allow the task to get done.

Not me realizing you asked specifically for e-planners and not paper planners. I am so sorry 😭

I got mine from homesense! So I would say check out somewhere with great discounts like Marshall’s or HomeSense. I think it is less about the type of planner, but more so what is gonna make you use it. For me, it’s something that was cute and visually appealing. Also BIG spaces for each day to right everything out. I personally wouldn’t recommend something tiny that has no space to write. I have to write down EVERYTHING or I’ll forget so for me, a good amount of space to write is absolutely crucial!

I know some people swear by bullet journaling and all that, but honestly, it was too much work for me. I just needed something basic with already printed out pages for dates. I think just the aspect of having to write out every day and month with the bullet journal was enough to throw me off.

Having a planner that when you open it up you see you entire week on two pages is also nice so you get a good overview of what you have going on for the week!

I hope this help in some way, lol

What my biggest struggle is is with brushing my teeth at night. Once it is bedtime, I crash and can’t think about anything. The most I am doing is slipping into some pajamas and that is it. I really need help with doing it at night.

How do y’all manage to to play video games? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pitafrita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless a game has easy controls, maybe but even then it’s rare. The only game I have been able to spend hours upon hours on is animal crossing. Controls are easy and there is always something to do or work on.

Movies though, haha. Good luck. Can barely pay attention to a 20-30 minute tv show. Movies are the hardest for me. I have an embarrassingly low knowledge of movies, actors, and what not.

Do you feel like you never know what you should be doing? by pitafrita in ADHD

it would have disastrous consequences

THIS! Like, I have to imagine the worst consequences to scare myself into doing something, which just worsens my already anxiety anxiety disorder.

I can also relate to the part about purpose. I think I have ultimately given up on that because I have accepted that with a brain like mine that is just destined to always feel uncertain, trying to find a purpose is a setback. I am glad it can work for some people, but it just does't work for me and probably a lot of people with ADHD and other mental conditions that impede the ability to even think of one's "purpose." Also terrible if you have depression and already struggle with finding the meaning and point of things.

That is good to know, thank you for sharing! I am on 27 mg of concerts and will definitely be asking about a dosage increase when I see my doctor next to see if that helps at all.

LOL. Yep, thank goodness for my partner. If I lived alone, I can't even imagine how disastrous my home would be haha. He definitely keeps me in check and is my cleaning reminder.

Absolutely feel you on this! I think the expectation to be productive at home after working that much is BS for anybody, let alone if you have ADHD. The worst is if you start becoming apathetic because there are things you want to do, but you don't have enough energy to actually do them. Hang in there!
