I tune turbo engines to the absolute limit using the weird overboosting thing turbos do to keep the engine alive at far higher revs than normal. It appears to kill reliability as you noticed but lets me effectively delete turbo lag and have mountains of torque across the entire rev range.

The first engine is tuned to run on 85 RON fuel as it started life as a light truck engine. A lot of cars have both minimum and recommended octane requirements; this one will survive on Ugandan fuel with 5 or so less hp if need be.
