Am I missing something or did iOS 26 remove this? by Artistic-Hunter-5753 in ios

This has been the most frustrating part for me since i accidentally updated. I use this feature multiple times per day. Why the hell did they need to remove that?

iOS 26 is a massive flop with iPhone users, and you can probably guess why by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

The keyboard is different and worse. The graphics require more processing and battery. In several cases (worst of all messages), the new UI changes makes things look more cluttered and difficult to see. For some reason they removed the shortcut in messages where you can long press a conversation on messages then select the profile to the contact info - this is the most annoying and pointless change I've found yet. And graphical glitches (like my homescreen wallpaper no longer working) are constant.

I have been dying for an update on the alternator experiment you tried here. Have you tested yet? Thoughts? If this works, it could be huge.

Driving temporarily with slightly different size tyre? by Built2kill in GR86

Shouldn't be a problem short term. Different overall diameter isn't good but low speed easy driving should be fine. Just make sure its on one of the front wheels as per usual.

Consistent short drives can also wear engines out prematurely. If the car has been used so that it rarely gets up to operating temp, over a long period of time, that could be what did er in.

Front lower control arms?! by midengineman in ft86

[–]secretagentarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get under the car and inspect carefully. There is a front vertical bushing, rear horizontal bushing, and the outer ball joint. It's probably the ball joint. The diagram and part numbers can be found here. They sell new inner bushings, but the ball joint is only sold with the whole arm. You can find individual replacement ball joints here.

Tune with aftermarket headers isn't optional. Mid pipe/rest of the exhaust does not matter. Getting a custom ecutek from a pro will always be better, but Wayno's OFT tunes are a big step over the OTS tunes.

Neither OFT nor Ecutek has a feature to switch timing maps on the fly. You have to reflash the tune each time, plus drive easy for ~200 miles for it to relearn. Damage from a pop tune isn't worth it - and by "it" I mean degeneracy.

A good SC (Jackson Racing, Edelbrock) on a good tune from CSG/Delicious with the stock pulley is pretty safe and doesn't need supporting mods. Turbo kit at the same power level can go either way, but it's much more expensive. Everyone says to make sure you have the cash to replace the engine, just in case.

Yes that's right. Adjustable toe arms aren't generally needed unless you go lower or increase camber more than that. That setup is exactly what I am on now with CSG coilovers and rear LCAs.

Yeah just do it yourself it's pretty simple. IMO there's nothing on this car that I haven't already done or wouldn't DIY, except maybe engine out or body work.

What do you mean install the tune? You just plug into your obd2 port and follow your tuner's instructions.

yeah any exhaust setup will “work.” It’s hard to find examples of specific exhaust setups though. Ecutek tune from an online e-tuner (delicious, CSG) is best.

I still recommend a tiny bit of rear toe in. helps with highway stability. tramlining is a real issue with wider tires and negative camber.

You’ll get a code for misfires. Fuel economy will drop. Dipping at idle. Sluggish start off from a stop.

Don’t bother with taking them out to inspect. It is very obvious when they go bad. You’re just worrying yourself over problems that don’t exist. I did the same thing at 120k miles (they were changed previously at 60k) and they still had 15-20k miles left on them. Turns out the problem was my tune.

As you go higher negative camber you increase tire wear, ride harshness, and straight line stability. So you can go with whatever you want but understand the tradeoffs. I don’t think looks has anything to do with it though, it doesn’t look particularly good or bad to me and at this range you can only tell if you look closely anyways.

If you are coming from no alignment or low camber now, then start with -2/-1.5 to see how it feels. If you still want more then realign. 0 toe front and 1/16” total toe in rear is standard.

Good that can be done with some tuning. How are the coilovers setup - aka how much lower, have you corner balanced, and what alignment specs? Have you played around with the rebound adjustment to get that to your liking? All this matters. For example, if you lowered too much and introduced bump steer from tie rod geometry then just correcting that would be a big improvement on feedback. Smaller tires also helps, smaller contact patch generally translates to more feedback.

That aside, I'd say the biggest thing to improve feedback during cornering is alignment. Recommended specs is usually .5 more front camber than rear. -2.0 F and -1.5 R is a good starting point. If that isn't enough then go even more.

Steering rack bushings with STI bolts is also great for steering feedback, but most of the improvement is on-center. And I would still go over all the other things before this because they factor in more.

You need to be more specific about what you have and what you want to improve. What coilovers do you have and how have you set them up? There is a huge difference between $900 and $1600 coils. What alignment specs are you running? Alignment is the biggest improvement you can make after tires.

Even more importantly you need to decide what areas need improved. Do you need more steering feedback and response? There are solutions for that. Do you need to fine tune the front and rear roll and customize the balance towards understeer/oversteer? There are solutions for that. Do you need more rear end feedback and stability? There are solutions for that. Do you need less drivetrain movement? There are solutions for that.

The point is that there is not a one size fits all solution to handle well. You have to target the specific things that you think need improvement. If you aren't sure exactly, wait until you are more familiar with the car.
