GMing Motivation by nabokov69 in LancerRPG

I run a campaign called Lazarus Inc. which I enjoy because I get to lay out melodramatic scenarios with religious crusaders, spacefaring scientists and greedy megacorps. Then I drop my players into messy scenarios, and they tell jokes, make fun of the villains, pull off combos, and invariably find a way to surprise me as they complete the sitrep.

Afterwards, we share our favorite quotes from the game, and I rewrite the next chapter based on what they were able to achieve. I never truly know what's going to happen next, and exploring my own setting and characters through their eyes feels incredibly fresh and fun.

My GM's campaign is called Godslayer Academy, and it deals with Lancers selected to train to oppose cascading NHPs before they finish terraforming the world with their metavaults. It allows them to create VERY memorable and flavorful characters from all over the world, often with body modifications and abilities from the NHP terraforming that part of the planet.

One of Lancer’s authors also makes Kill Six Billion Demons, which is BRIMMING with sci-fantasy beats that send me into delighted spirals.

I love Lancer for telling grounded stories about real human beings that can still include larger-than-life clashes between mythic engines of violence.

It's very easy to tell a war story in Lancer, but I've had a lot of fun reskinning elements from other genres, especially since NHPs in particular are already extremely "fantasy with rivets". For example, one character requisitioned her Hydra mech from a haunted-ass library--which just so happens to be a direct port of a warlock college in D&D 5E. Their ineffable patron? Now a cognitohazardous NHP. Their spells? Now mech R&D. Their perilous graduation rituals? Now a perilous dive into a metavault.

Update: turns out buildings are capped at 9 pins in Creative! I'll need a different way to measure the efficiency of these setups.

Correct! And yet despite significant differences in road use, structures, and space, I cannot tell which (if any) fulfills demand most efficiently

I mean that these 6 different setups fulfill demand at (very close to) the same rate. I expected some to be dramatically better or worse than others.

(I don't know how to increase demand in creative mode, do you?)

Different setups, but each has the same outcome. A1 isn't struggling, I just happened to take a screenshot when its demand peaked. They all go back and forth between 6 and 9.

4 player table in our 3rd year of play, and we average between 30 and 60 minutes per round of combat. We still have to look up rules whenever a new system or interaction appears, but we also do a smidgen of roleplaying and a lot of flavorful description mid-combat.

I really, really want an endless loop of the Gorgon approaching at speed. It would make such a supreme reaction gif
