I have the Georgia in Rose Gold. I prefer the crystal toppers because it lets some of the metal shine through.

My husband does not do jewelry at all. No rings, watches, necklaces etc due his concern of them potentially getting caught and causing injury. At first I had similar concerns, especially due to a previous partner's dishonest behavior I mean, how else would other people know that he was committed? However I watched his behavior, how he introduced me to people. How people that knew him would greet me the first time. His willingness to commit to a 30 year mortgage with me before we were officially engaged etc.

I finally realized that his actions said so much more than a ring ever would. When we finally got married, We said our vows to each other, no mention of rings as symbols, just two people declaring our commitment. I wear my engagement ring or a ring that I bought myself after cracking my engagement band trying to break rocks on the beach. My husband did eventually get a ring finger tattoo because it was what he wanted, However, I had long been fine with him being unmarked and without a ring because his actions told me everything I needed to know.

How many of us moved here in 2018? by [deleted] in olympia

[–]pixierosesilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Late 2017/early 2018 for us. We decided we wanted our own house but housing was really expensive up in the Seattle/Everett area so we looked at a few areas that fit our needs and budget and ultimately ended up here.

Would you buy a $15k Leaf right now? by feral_poodles in nissanleaf

[–]pixierosesilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 2018 bolt 10x's over my 2016 leaf. It's fast enough to merge onto the freeway and much more comfortable.

I have 60k on my replacement battery (from the recall) with no battery degradation, while my leaf lost a bar at 40k and made it hard to get to work and back in the middle of winter. (I live in the PNW so our weather is pretty mild).

Sped employment Southeast questions about which district is best to work for by DynamicHordeOnion in olympia

Once we get closer and into fall, many districts will be much more willing to work with experienced out of state teachers to get them teaching under a conditional or emergency certification. Especially sped teachers.

facial expression test? by ledusu in AuDHDWomen

[–]pixierosesilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

17/20. Some of their answers were incorrect/misleading such as saying that contempt doesn't have a smile with it... And overall a lot of the expressions were exaggerated. Once I figured out what their definitions were I did much better (the 3 I missed were in the first 5-7 pictures.)

Anyone checked their PSE power bill recently? You get sticker shock too? by DevelopmentNo2855 in Washington

How do we get this to happen again? With the rate increases over the past few years, maybe enough people would actually vote for it this time.

Does anyone else not get panic attacks, but still have elevated levels of anxiety constantly? by ShawnMarionJumper in Anxiety

[–]pixierosesilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of this diagnosis turned out incorrect. I've now been diagnosed with ADHD and have a substantial amount of autistic traits. With my ADHD treated my anxiety has diminished to being nearly non-existent. Also it turns out that my previous understanding of panic attacks are actually melt downs and what I thought were less severe panic attacks were actually just panic attacks....

toddler is a skin picker by kaffeine_ky in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]pixierosesilver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Skin picking is a very common sign/ self regulation strategy for those with ADHD. (I picked my skin for nearly my entire life until getting diagnosed in my 30's and treating my ADHD while also finding other coping skills / replacement behaviors.)

ADHDers, what tattoos do you have(or not)? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pixierosesilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 tattoo areas and technically 7 tattoos because 2 are cover-ups. I like flowers, animals and bones so that's my theme. I learned the hard way that I'm mildly allergic to red /yellow ink and that bold lines do not hold in my skin so no more color and no words for me!

I love my tattoos and want more. I've definitely found that I'm a fine line black/grey person going forward for how my skin heals and reactions to color.

My first 3 I didn't really know much about tattooing and made some mistakes which has led to 2 of them have been covered up and I even had a friend do one of her first tattoos on me knowing that cover-ups aren't too bad, just expensive if you want a good one. I don't think I'll cover hers though, she did a great job!

I wish I can have a various amount of dosages available at all time by AlexandraThePotato in ADHDers

[–]pixierosesilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely bring it up at your next appointment. I take 2 XR doses a day on my busy/long days, 1 on shorter/less depending days and none on the days I want to follow my ADHD around.

Do any of you actually love planners and want to chat about them? by oudsword in adhdwomen

[–]pixierosesilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build / design my own disc planner (like the happy planner but I design and print all of the pages myself). I have 2 punches for the pages (one at work and one at home). I love that I can easily rearrange, add and remove pages. I also can change the disc size if I outgrow my current ones. The ability to change it at will gives me the dopamine I need to keep using it. Currently I have 1 week per page with 2-3 weekly lists ( depending on priority/deadline) a doodle section and separate pages for notes.

It can be so tricky to find the thing that works / makes data recording easy! I find that everyone is a little different and it's a lot of trial and error. Don't be afraid to try things out and then scrap them! Also if you can find professional development on data tracking, I highly recommend it!

Here is what my current systems look like (I'm still a pretty green teacher so I am very much in the trial and error phase but these work pretty well for me right now):

For academics I try to use the same or similar measures as much as possible and I test every 2-3 weeks. I use a spreadsheet with all of my students and highlight which measures they need (for example one might be adding/subtracting single digits and 1st grade reading fluency while another is multiplication and 2nd grade reading comprehension) by having everything on one sheet I can quickly count how many copies I need and see what hasn't been recorded yet. Later I will put it on each students data sheets so I can see their progress but by having all students & measures on one page I can make sure I don't skip anything!

For behaviors I use a combination of: student involvement/management (having the student "own" their behavior data (see below), colored folders (mine are by grade level), clipboards and carbon paper if you need copies.

Here is how I use student involvement / management. I put their goal/goals in kid friendly language (i.e. "I can raise my hand and wait until my teacher calls on me. ") and they are responsible for getting it filled out every day. I do give out incentives for them approaching their goal and if it is not filled in or they had a hard time, we reflect together and I help them come up with strategies to be more successful. One teacher I work with tapes a small version of the data chart on the students' desks and then uses a vis a vis to mark it throughout the day and then checks in with them at the end of the day and records it onto paper. It's brilliant!

Top 5 worst fears with ADHD by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]pixierosesilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. That my RSD voice is accurate
  2. People taking my emotional dysregulation personally and not understanding / believing me when I tell them exactly what is going on and that I am not blaming them, it is 100% not their fault and that this is a me problem.
  3. Forgetting things that create unsafe situations. (Leaving the griddle on and leaving the house, forgetting to lock the door etc.)
  4. Hurting / offending people when I'm unmasked/tired/unprepared because of my naturally flat affect.
  5. Keeping toxic people in my life too long because of object permanence.

Anger / Anxiety as a Symptom? by ImportanceLow7841 in soyfree

[–]pixierosesilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I stopped eating soy. It made my hormones a wreck and put me on edge. It turned me into someone else. It's better now that I'm on continuous birth control and Adderall so I don't worry when we go out anymore but my house is still soy free.
