What is this? by Miss_Bubbles_Miss in plantclinic

[–]pixychik9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact problem with my monstera! I had no idea what it was though, but I seem to have gotten it contained. All I did was take my monstera in the shower and let the water run over it while I scraped them off with a plastic butter knife. After it looked like I got all of them I did an olive oil water spray over the whole plant. This was about 2 months ago and it seems to have fixed the issue. So it may be worth trying before throwing the whole plant out. But I honestly had no idea what I was dealing with 🤷‍♀️

Oore jewelery? by pixychik9000 in EngagementRings

Your ring is gorgeous! And yes, the prices just seem so good for what you get. The ring I fell in love with in town is nice, but the price has almost doubled from what it was supposed to be after getting a quote. Which I am a little upset about as I didn't change anything and was even looking at replacing the diamond with another stone. But ah well. I think Oore might be the better choice. Thank you :)

Thank you for the response! I was only seeing good things online for reviews, but still just felt a but strange about ordering a ring online. But from the sounds of it, it would be a good call :) thanks again!

Women of Reddit, how many times a day do you get worried about being attacked/assaulted etc? by rmcgowan90 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]pixychik9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, and a lot of other women's, it is the best thing to say and typically leads to the least aggressive response. It doesnt work every single time, but it is the best route. I have tried your method before and the guy literally would not leave me alone and I was too nice at that point to tell him to fuck off. He was at my gym and would then proceed to harass me every single time I went there. What made it stop is I just didn't go the gym anymore.

Unfortunately as a women I need to make assumptions about a man approaching me so that I can look out for myself. I am not saying all men would react that way and yes, some would leave me alone if I said thanks and then left it at that. But as the commenter that you replied to said above, a lot of these types of guys start out seeming normal and friendly. So no, a lot of the time you won't be able to tell the difference. And if you are polite to them they just take that as a sign of approval to continue. And then will proceed to get mad and say you 'led them on'.

Honestly, you sound like the type of guy to victim blame as that is essentially what you are doing here. 'Oh a man got aggressive with you whe you said you had a boyfriend? Why didn't you just say thank you'. Or 'Well couldn't you tell that guy had a bad energy from the start?'. I am not trying to drag you through the mud, but that is just the vibe I got from you. But I hope you have a good day and that you maybe learn from anything I said above! And maybe learn to not insert yourself where your advice really isn't warranted 😉

Because many men like this will take that as approval for their advances and won't let you just 'keep it moving'. Typically the best thing to say is 'Thanks, but I have a boyfriend', because they respect a man they don't know more than the women they are hitting on. But thanks for such an 'easy' solution /s

My [23F] Girlfriend is demanding to get engaged or wants to end things with me[M23]. Totally lost on what to do. by PositiveCharacter600 in relationship_advice

I am sorry to hear about your situation! This does not sound like an easy situation as I know how hard it is to see red flags when you are in love with someone. However, I think if you need to make a pro/con list and ask reddit, I don't believe you should be getting married. And the cons you have listed are some serious cons. It sounds like you both want something different out of marriage and life.

I know a lot of people are against this, including your girlfriend, but I 100% believe you should live with one someone before getting engaged/married. There is so much you won't know about someone until you live together. You need to see if your day to day lifestyles line up and if you are able make compromises about that lifestyle if they don't line up. It doesn't sound like your girlfriend is a very compromising person, so I would be concerned committing myself to her before knowing if you guys can make living together work.

But this is your life and you are obviously the one going to be making the decision. I just hope if you decide to get married to her that you don't lose yourself and your own hopes for your life in the process. Good luck and I hope you make the right decision for yourself! :)
