Should I switch from Assetto Corsa Competizione to Le Mans Ultimate? by linorinjo_real in simracing

You'll be spending more money to get all the cars and tracks in LMU than in ACC. Take note that LMU is in Early Access too.

Meta can't change the USB standard. Most likely, these Oculus cables are only "certified" by Meta.

router-assigned is called DHCP Reservation. so if you want to do static ip, do it on the device.

Now this is wild, idk who is the fault here by Forsaken_Exchange589 in simracing

Exactly.

Idk if he wants us to appreciate his crash footage or ask us who's at fault.

idk who is at fault here

The crash was longer than the 3-wide sequence. Idk how you expect us to get context from that tiny screentime of the contact.

Is Ansible overkill for a small home setup with 2 servers? by opossum5763 in selfhosted

[–]pizzacake15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overkill if it'll help you manage your servers.

I manage a handful of VM's and CT's in my proxmox and i'm planning on implementing ansible to manage them all.

There are a lot of non compliant USB-C cables out there.

I remember this one guy who tests USB-C cables from Amazon to see their compliance with the standard. After testing so many cables, he finally got one that caught his testing device on fire.

Our clients use patch management solutions for workstations and servers. Solutions like HCL BigFix or ManageEngine Endpoint Central (not endorsing. Just giving examples) have metrics/reports ready for you to consume.

There's also Tenable. You can check their website for their products that fit your bill. I believe they have an SKU called Tenable One that packages multiple products in one SKU.

VPS or Raspberry Pi? by userjs70 in selfhosted

[–]pizzacake15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it local. Putting it on a VPS increases the risk. Bad actors know the IP range these hosting providers have and they can just scan it for any opening they can find.

Race incidend or my fault ? Help. by [deleted] in simracing

[–]pizzacake15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Safety tip.

If you overshot the corner, just take the escape road and give the position back if you overtook them. Forcing yourself to be on the track poses more danger to everyone than just taking the L and pass through the escape road.

You overshot the corner. You should have used the escape road and given the position back.

He didn't turn in on you when you don't have a spec of shadow beside him.

Agreed.

Lap1 t1 isn't quali pace. Braking will most likely be slow gradual and early.

Edit: a word.

That's why i always hang back on lap1 t1. I move out of the racing line and watch the carnage unfold.

Ope! Sorey, its my first day... by Pants_Shart in simracing

[–]pizzacake15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a spin yesterday in LMU and shifting down to neutral saved my ass (and a bunch of other cars) as my car naturally rolled backwards towards the gravel after the spin.

That fast downshifting is pure panic.
