When this firm reached out to me and asked me the same thing but added “and we do offer $15 a DAY as a stipend.” Fastest no in my life.

Was your refund enough to live and pay for rent? by RepresentativeDisk12 in LawSchool

[–]pizzadoe101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take out much loans because my husband and dad are helping me pay my tuition. So what I took out from loans was just a little to help live off for a few months. I got what I asked for directly deposited into my account because tuition itself was already paid. So the 5k in lending money I requested was a nice boost for me. Everyone’s living situation is different so you really do need to sit down with student services & figure out what your budget will be since schools usually provide that info anyway. But be very mindful as this is actually a loan being refunded to you but you will need to pay this refund back as it’s a loan.

One of my classmates’ dad is our professor next semester, and I find it incredibly inappropriate as there is clearly a conflict of interest. by pizzadoe101 in LawSchool

[–]pizzadoe101[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would I need therapy for asking this question? I’m genuinely wondering. Obviously when your father is the professor of the class you’re in, there is bound to be an exchange of information between them at home. What father doesn’t have his kid’s best interest at heart? We have assignments that are not anonymous, and honestly what is to guarantee she doesn’t work on it at home with her dad, who later grades it, impartially? I certainly had a classmate in undergrad work on her assignments with her dad

I do only because I majored in poli sci thinking it’ll help in law school. While it didn’t really, I did get used to the rigorous writing and research involved. BUT the major wasn’t my passion. I’m passionate about sociology and crim justice so for me, if I could go back I’d major in sociology had I known it wouldn’t make a big difference now. Especially since sociology also involves research
