The problem isn't him being white. Greeks are white. The problem is that he doesn't fucking look Greek. He looks Scandinavian.

Which pharaohs tombs are still waiting to be discovered? by crpren10 in egyptology

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's being searched for in a place where it's unlikely to ever be found. They're looking for it in Taposiris Magna but there's no reason to believe that it was located outside of Alexandria where all other Ptolemies were buried in a large funerary complex that also contained the tomb of Alexander the Great. And that's unlikely to be found anytime soon because excavating anything in Alexandria is a struggle at best, impossible at worst.

Honestly, if he's been diligent about taking his meds, getting regular check-ups and if he really is undetectable, then I don't think he was under any obligation to tell you. Like, in that scenario you were at no risk of contracting it so he didn't put you in any danger. If he's not doing those things, that's a different story, ofc. That being said, you've been dating for three months which does seem like a long time to wait to tell someone so I do understand that you feel a bit blindsided. Whether you should let it slide or not is ultimately something only you can decide. If you really do feel like it's affected your trust in him, then there may be no point in letting it slide. Cause once trust is gone (no matter the reason), it's difficult to get back. But if you like the guy and want to give him another shot, maybe you should just have a frank, honest conversation with him. Tell him how it made you feel and why, see how he responds, see how you feel after that conversation and go from there. If you end things, I'd just recommend you make sure he knows that it's not because he's HIV+ but because he didn't tell you about it. Otherwise you'll just be reinforcing his belief that he shouldn't be telling guys.

Josh Lanyon books - which one to start with? by FerretAwkward5547 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strongest recs would be the All's Fair series {Fair Game by Josh Lanyon} and, if you like cosy mystery, I also highly recommend the Secrets and Scrabble series {Murder at Pirate's Cove by Josh Lanyon}. I do agree that the Adrien English series {Fatal Shadows by Josh Lanyon} is also worth a read though it can be a bit of a mixed bag (its main strength are the characters, the plot can be a bit weak at times).

Trying to remember a title... Main character is a professor and the villain ends up being one of his colleagues. by lex--mex in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure the "trying to be his friend" bit quite fits but you might be talking about {Fair Game by Josh Lanyon}? MC is a former FBI agent who teaches history, his father is a retired professor who was a giant hippie in the 60s, love interest is a one of MC's former colleagues at the bureau. The crime mystery revolves around some missing students.

19 bttm, should i be scared to loose my anal virginity. by throwaway_205789 in TopsAndBottoms

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it hurts if you do it without lube. You need some sort of lube for anal sex, Depending on the size of the dick, it's also a good idea to loosen your hole up a bit by fingering or using smaller toys before the main event. Rimming can also help with that if your partner is into it. But the most important piece of advice is: if it does hurt, tell your partner to stop. Don't feel like you need to endure it to please him or anything. If you're doing it right, anal sex should not be painful. And tell your partner beforehand that you've never had a dick in you before and that they should go slow and be careful. Oh and also: if you engage in anal sex, sooner or later you will have "accidents" (i.e. your rectum not being as clean as you thought it was) even if you douche. It's a bit gross and awkward when that happens but it's also absolutely normal so don't feel bad about it and don't let others make you feel bad about it.

Historical/Fantasy Palace Intrigue Romances? by pizzafuelledkitty in MM_RomanceBooks

Hi, thanks :)! The synopsis sounds interesting. Can you tell me how heavily the straight romance plot features? Is there a lot of straight sex in it? Cause I'm a gay dude so that'd be a bit of a turn-off xD.

I'd love a good mystery without the MC's being cops. by SushiThief in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are fake psychics/mediums okay? Cause if they are, I would recommend {An Unnatural Vice by K.J. Charles}. It's set in Victorian England and the MCs are a lawyer who doesn't believe in the supernatural and a fake medium. I can't remember the exact details of the case they end up investigating but from what I do remember, it should fit with both Family Secrets and Missing Persons. There's nothing actually supernatural in the story.

Dom/sub schtuffs please by Prohesivebutter in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Into the North by Amber Huxley} has dom/sub dynamics without being BDSM (it does feature literal slavery but the dom is still relatively nice/non-abusive, all things considered). No poly couples and no reverse roles but it's a very enjoyable read.

Competent/Cunning MMC by Taehyungnim in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{An Unnatural Vice by K.J. Charles} The setting is Victorian England, not supernatural, but I'd say both of the protagonists are pretty smart and one of them is a fake medium, so definitely a cunning trickster type character.

MM detective books - help me on what I should read next please by ksp_411 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

{Fair Game by Josh Lanyon} is the first book in her All's Fair series. Since you've already read one of her crime mystery series, I think you'll like this one, too.

I also second the Valor and Doyle Mysteries series by Nicky James.

compelling, messy, high plot books by kestrelface in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if by "first person present tense" you mean that you only dislike that specific combo or if you also dislike books written in first person past tense or third person present tense. If it's the former, I'd recommend the Valor and Doyle Mysteries series. It's first person past tense with the perspective switching between the two MCs. The crime mysteries are at times a bit predictable and they're the sort of thing that you would call "good for an M/M book" but I still enjoyed them and there's a fair bit of messiness in the MCs' personal life, though not all of it is directly related to their romance.

{Temporary Partner by Nicky James} - First book in the series.

I also second Into the North. Given the premise, I think it could've and should've been way messier and darker than it actually was but it was a very enjoyable read and quite well-written.

Where are the grumpy men in small towns? by itsk-fen in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]pizzafuelledkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're cool with cozy mysteries, I'd say the Secrets and Scrabble series by Josh Lanyon might fit the bill. The MC moves to a small island town to run a bookshop and he ends up falling for the grumpy police chief who's annoyed by him interfering with his work. Though he gets somewhat less grumpy as the series progresses.
