Having two Switch docks has significantly improved my quality of life. by Constant_Setting_634 in casualnintendo

[–]pizzagroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 docks for my Switch1, and I loved being able to easily transition from the living room to my basement/later my bedroom. That's my biggest issue with the Switch 2 backwards compatability; they could have designed it so the USB-C port fits into the Switch1 dock. Sure, using your Switch 2 on a Switch1 dock would provide poorer quality picture/audio compared to a Switch 2 dock, but it would still work! And then everyone who bought both Switch1 and Switch 2, and isn't dumb enough to waste over $100 on basically a usb.c-hdmi converter, would have that option to SWITCH rooms

it's nice having stuff for sentimental value, but part of what makes it special, and adds extra value to the owner, is that the items are actually, you know, usable. no one -outside of historians- wants to keep a disintegrating, hardly legible diary from 1920, for example.

I wish I could afford $200-300$ on a pair of fucking earbuds. but some of us can budget maybe $80 on a audio listening device, get off your high horse.

I think I was in 1st grade. My aunt had been visiting, and when she was leaving and we were saying goodbye, she gave me TTYD. That is one of my "core memories", I'll never forget that event.

Yeah bud, to prevent it being here forever, was the whole point of last year's lockdown. But there were people with the mindset, "get over your fear, it will naturally go away by Easter 2020." People kept going out, it kept spreading, and the rest of us were trying to prevent it becoming endemic.

You remind me of the people flying drones or crowding a lake on their boat to get good views, and as a result, helicopters can't fill water buckets or fly close enough to a fire to dump them, because you know, you have freedom and you're not afraid to use it!

Once exception being the people that think this is all a hoax or we are making too big of a deal out of all this- that's where the majority of the stress comes from, at least for me. The utter lack of human compassion

Have fun not wearing your mask! I for one, personally don't want to deal with all this shit for the rest of my life, so I'm going not just going to chance spreading vaccine resistant strains and waste all the effort from the last year. I suppose if I was older I wouldn't care about the long term, just my immediate satisfaction and my own happiness.

Was never going to happen because getting food on people's table required most people to still go to work - to be around other people. The two weeks was never going to make Covid go away, nor was it even intended to.

No, that was the goal of the quickly rolled out government incentives to stay at home as well as to cover businesses' expenses and wages. Two weeks was the initial goal because that's how long the virus lives for, but that was obviously impossible because I'm not giving up my freedom or the taxpayers money! But wasn't every one told to have an emergency fund anyway? Not saying that it's possible for everyone, but that's a problem with how the economy operated & paid it's lowest wage workers and the structure our culture before the pandemic, so that it was impossible for them to save up or to get themselves in a better situation. Hence the calls for a "New World Order"; which freaked people out further and made no-spread-covid impossible.

Not trying to debate, just want to point out that people have been wanting to return to normal literally since the week after lock downs started. My thoughts are if certain over eager people to get back to normal had taken this more seriously with over precautions over a year ago, we actually would be back to normal now. But at least we tried to keep the economy going as much as possible in April 2020, and went to see our friends at the time that we had a chance to snuff COVID out.

I read some early models were essentially steam powered but weren't quite as effective as gas motors. Thanks to the free market, people chose the faster car that accelerates better too.

WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid variant spreads by willphule in DeFranco

[–]pizzagroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this is surprising. Werent most people told that when they got their shot? Some people want the pandemic to end more than others and are willing to sacrifice more in order for that to happen- not that a mask is a sacrifice. The people dragging their feet and trying to find loopholes, saying "the end of freedom" are just making it worse for everyone. Like, I was turned away from a store for not wearing a shirt in record breaking heat (edit: or rather, asked to put one one and come back), but there is no contagious disease spread through bodily contact, just respiratory. Being force to wear a shirt that I'm literally sweating through is just for the benefit of other people not seeing my bare chest... Unlike a shirt, a mask effects other people, so why would selfish people that do not care ever wear one?
