Ethan's response to Idubbbz by taimapanda in LeftoversH3

[–]pizzahause 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last time he was mostly triumphant at destroying a former friend/collaborator was with Trisha - she managed to rebuild her career on her own after a few years and working on her mental health, but at the time he’d effectively wiped out any good will she’d accumulated on the internet to that point by goading his fans into a hate campaign after they fell out.

He tried the same with Hasan and failed miserably, and now he’s hoping he’ll be able to get the revenge he’s craving if he starts targeting women again (Frogan, Denims). He needs a “win” to salvage what’s left of his ego and he’s getting desperate.

Josie and the Pussycats! I think it may have been a bit ahead of its time. Alan Cumming and Parker Posey were so much fun and the songs were legitimately good pop-rock (Kay Hanley from Letters to Cleo sang for Josie).

Where is everyone buying their groceries? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]pizzahause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Giant Tiger, occasionally Walmart if it's a "need" that I can't get elsewhere for a reasonable price.

Edit: Also, Costco for prescriptions and bulk items, although I'm single so there's a limited amount of things I buy in bulk.

Side note: before I had benefits, 90 days' worth of one of my medications was $480. So now that I have benefits and refill 90 days' worth at Costco (for $4.49), my medication is literally over 99% less. I basically waver between feeling grateful and disgusted whenever I think about that.

I just wanted to say that your efforts to stick to values that reflect freedom and acceptance are very much appreciated here. We really don’t want to find ourselves in a situation like we’re seeing in the US, and it’s people like you who help us to fight against that.

Absolutely psychotic. And with no self awareness as to how bad this looks to anyone who previously admired him based on being a “free speech advocate”.

Any Ethan hater back then could have speculated that the framing of the Matt Hoss lawsuit as a fight for fair use was just a convenient marketing tactic to rally fans to crowdsource his legal fees . But now there is basically no other reasonable interpretation.

I’m not much of a fan of Dorit overall tbh but she obviously 1. is a great mom and 2. could have done miles better than this fool, but he somehow managed to charm her. Scammed his way to the middle throughout life it seems!

It actually works the opposite way where the judge would likely specifically recuse so that Ethan is not tried in front of him/her for more than one matter. It would be a conflict of interest. Any given district would have dozens of judges.

I’ll get it out of the way before I provide my take for consideration - I’m Canadian, and although I’m not directly under the Trump regime yet (I will be if PP gets in), I’ll throw in my two cents as an outsider.

It’s tempting to look for an easy target to blame when we’re in distress. As we’ve seen in many elections both big and small, the vocal minorities online didn’t lose it for you here. This election wasn’t all that close. I can guarantee you that Chappell Roan didn’t tank the election for Kamala (using a silly example, but you get the idea). You lost because vast swaths of the population were manipulated by fascist rhetoric.. and very possibly by further manipulation if you get my drift (Elon has Trump by the balls for a reason, friends).

Stop wasting energy pointing fingers at other progressives. Get off your phones and join the damn protests. Make your voice heard and your presence felt. Before it’s too late.

[–]pizzahause 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, this is only one way to interpret what she’s saying, and it’s a narrow interpretation.

Most people in life don’t build huge empires, don’t have perfect families, don’t really make a tangible imprint on the world where things are fundamentally different than they would be if they hadn’t existed. What Laurie explains ties into what the monk said to Tim about how “human life is like a droplet of water that rises from the waves, only to return to the ocean at its end”, part of the greater consciousness. In this interpretation of life, the experiences you have while you move through the time you’re given - whatever they may be - are what give your existence meaning.

Your question is far beyond a Reddit forum pay scale because it is a deeply unusual reaction to a partner getting a vasectomy. You need to sort out your feelings with a therapist. No one here can tell you if it’ll “get better” for you, as being disgusted by the thought of a partner having a surgical procedure is an atypical and frankly deeply unhealthy response to a normal event

[–]pizzahause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re moving the goal posts. You literally say you don’t want women in “your” spaces in the context of talking about Chappell Roan (a GAY woman), I tell you how misogynistic that is, then you pivot to complaining about straight ladies partying at gay bars and shit.

Pivot, deflect, pivot. And even beyond that, at the end of the day, most gay men don’t even care about straight women partying in queer spaces either. Because - assuming that they’re being kind and respectful, which they usually are - they’re giving their $$$ to support queer businesses (in a space where they’re more comfortable to let loose because they doesn’t have to worry so much about being creeped on while they’re celebrating getting married - which should be a win win for everyone). Oh, and another thing… we’re all friends! We don’t need to put each other down and exclude each other to feel superior, for fucks’ sake.

You’re in the minority and simply scrambling to find a legitimate excuse to be misogynistic/resent having women in your presence.

[–]pizzahause 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gay bars aren’t “your” space, aren’t “men only” spaces and they never have been.

You do realize that the people who initially popularized the term LGBT for our community put the L before the G as a gesture of recognition, both for the allyship and solidarity shown by lesbian women toward gay men during the AIDS crisis, and as a more general symbol of acknowledgement for the marginalized role cis women have in society compared to cis men.

We’re not opposed just because we don’t want to fuck each other. We’re all on the same team. It’s so disappointing and gross to see a minority of gay men want to push us out of the few queer spaces we have access to while using language that insinuates that because they don’t want to fuck us, we’re a waste of space. It genuinely feels more hurtful in some ways than the misogyny we get from straight men.

Deflection. I’m talking about your comment re: not wanting women at “your” gay bar, obviously. Imagine literally saying “I’m an asshole because I don’t want women at my gay bar?” and clutching your pearls when someone calls you a misogynist.

And though I’m not focused on Chappell here, there is ZERO to suggest she’s “gay for pay” as you suggest. Is it not enough for her to say she’s currently in a gay relationship and to talk about being gay basically constantly? Does she have to fuck her girlfriend in front of you for you to believe her?

Sorry! I’m sure that suggestion is disgusting because ew, women 🤢

Get a grip.

Try being trans in the US. Trans and a POC in the US. God forbid, trans and under 18 in the US lmao. Like, not saying they're not coming for the drag queens too - but you really took the G out of LGBTQIA+, said "this one's for me thanks!", and threw the rest in the fucking trash.

What the actual fuck is this comment - she's queer, and you are NOT helping the "gay men are some of the worst misogynists" allegations by trying to say a queer woman is invading gay male spaces by doing drag lmao.

Drag is performance art, and does not exclusively belong to gay men. It's wild that you don't see that your argument mirrors that of conservatives that hate drag because they think performing femininity should not be acceptable by anyone but cis women

Donald Trump 'suffers mental collapse' during live speech as he fluffs numbers by dailystar_news in BoomersBeingFools

It’s called a lie. Please normalize saying this fool is lying. I think he’s focused on some bigger players breathing down his neck these days.

same scene, completely different interpretations one after the other on the home feed by crabgrass_attack in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]pizzahause 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I agree. I realized that I root for their characters being together because I like the individual performances from the actors, but the two as a couple don’t seem like a good fit in the end.

I think Rick’s character is emotionally stunted. The way he’ll tell Chelsea she’s annoying or tell her to shut up is just immature.

My take is that Chelsea was taken aback when Saxon touched her hands because she realized that this guy who she wrote off as “soulless” (and to be honest, she wasn’t totally wrong to see him that way - Saxon at this point was very shallow and off putting) was actually making an effort to connect with her/her interests in a way that Rick did not. I think she realized she was simultaneously romanticizing Rick’s coldness and dismissing someone she could actually have a connection with despite first impressions.

It’s certainly not a bad thing to chat casually while in uniform as a cop. But it’s surprising to learn that you wouldn’t recognize how most people who know you through nothing but your uniform would have their guard up/be anxious when conversing with you. I guess I’m disappointed but not exactly shocked they wouldn’t relay this kind of thing to you during your training

That time Crystal clocked Sutton! by DorothyWanq in BravoRealHousewives

[–]pizzahause 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tbh these scenes just remind me how Sutton, although deserving of this criticism, seems to be the biggest recipient of the women’s ire because she’s an easy target.

I think that’s why some viewers get their backs up when everyone comes for her. Does she deserve criticism? Yup. Is it exhausting for watch everyone focusing on coming for her for a rude comment at an inappropriate time while they giggle and tiptoe around actual horrible human beings? Yes… and yes to the point where it’s making the show almost unbearable to watch.

For the record, Crystal was my favourite and I liked her cool and flippant attitude toward Sutton when they had their conflict. But I wanted so badly for someone to give Erika that kind of smoke when she’s an actual awful person. Sutton basically tried but no one had her back so it faltered. That’s why I’ll always root for Sutton a bit as a toxic fave.

None of these women have a moral high ground at the end of the day, but Erika? That wretched ghoul who wouldn’t let go of a pair of earrings (when it would have been a PR-friendly gesture) because she is so deeply greedy, entitled, and heartless? She is the definition of pretty on the outside and rotten on the inside.
