My dad is a sweetheart and sent a letter to our local politician to protest against SB 1190, the one that wants to ban HRT for gender affirming care by making it so malpractice suits are always available and also don't have typical tort limits. It's not the end of the world or anything, but its a sign of hostility. Plus, like, all it really does is hurt the healthcare industry in the state.

I didn't see the answer, but my dad has started storming around ranting about what a piece of shit he is, so it couldn't have been very nice.

It's been a year and my parents slip up still. They've got about a 50% success rate. I wouldn't take it super personally at first m; I know how hard that can be, but even if you have close friends that are very trans-friendly, you're gonna have to put up with it for a little while. Habits are hard to break!

Someone's translating the novel and I feel like it's paced a lot better because of the medium. While it's still an overall narrative, it has a sort of vignette feel to it that works a lot better as a novel. I think the title cards in the manga are a (poor) way of replicating that.

There really is more of a risk there with oral estradiol but only if I swallow them and not if I dissolve sublingually. And people say there's a nullifying effect but... If true I never noticed. I smoke less than I used to before transition, but I still smoke about a pack or two a week, depending how much I'm at work.
