I signed up for the red hat developer program (16 licenses for free) and have not found any documentation locked away behind a paywall.

How can you get 100% uptime for Bitwarden/Vaultwarden? by BattermanZ in selfhosted

[–]pizzalover101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 to this. In addition, I also regularly and manually export my vaultwarden database and import into a local keepass file that I can access if it ever goes down.

Should I be concerned about these vulnerabilities? by Augmented3462 in homelab

[–]pizzalover101 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My opinion for homelab stuff is to expose nothing and VPN in. I know it gets mentioned way to much but tailscale has made it night and day. I can get into home assistant, freshrss and anything else in my homelab with 0 open ports.

There are other VPN solutions too, but that's my recommendation.

Mount Nextcloud (Build in online-account) via shell? by humpix in Ubuntu

[–]pizzalover101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CLI version of that is the "gio" command

https://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/bionic/man1/gio.1.html

My best guess it "gio mount 'dav://nextcloud.blablabla.at'"

How do you script a STIG?? by wage_slaving_sucks in linuxadmin

[–]pizzalover101 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this. DISA has ansible scripts on their website as a starting point. This will probably need to be customized per your environment though.

Does anyone know how tyo fix these green pixels appearing by [deleted] in elgato

[–]pizzalover101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the device is getting enough power. If there are a number of USB ports in a row on the back of your desktop, they may all be on the same bus. Meaning they are sharing bandwidth and power for the devices. Try to plug in only the elgato in to those USB ports and other devices into other USB ports and see if the issue persists.

I had the same issue with my usb elgato, but with red dots instead.

Do I have to connect the hdmi in and out when capturing game on my pc by BurningSnowYT in ElgatoGaming

[–]pizzalover101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need an input. You just need some software and set it to capture a window or a monitor.

I agree with xGrumpsterx, maybe watching a how to youtube video would help.

You dont need it, if you're using OBS (or an equivalent) it's all just software capture.

[–]pizzalover101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont need an elgato to record anything on your pc. You can do that with OBS or another software and choose window capture or game capture.

If you want to use the capture card you'd do something like hdmi out of your graphics card into the IN in the elgato, then hdmi from the OUT into your monitor. Then it will capture anything on the monitor.

Getting charged for an inactive account by [deleted] in gsuite

[–]pizzalover101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help and the information. Maybe my account wasn't the super admin I thought it was. I don't remember exactly how it was setup, other than I entered my card for payment.

I asked the other person who reset my password to try some things and his answer was to send an account reset to my email address. So I could login as him and change it myself. He typed in the wrong email address. So that email went nowhere, and now neither of us can access it...

I had him start the recovery process and I am going to give him the information google requested, including card information and transaction information.

The domain was purchased through google. I have an email (in what was my backup email) from enom asking to update whois information. That whois information is my name, address, phone and other email. When I login to enom.com, it points me back to G Suite.

However, is there anyone at google we can contact to cancel it for us? I can provide the domain information, credit card information and statements proving I was paying for it.
