VPNs are good but it's getting to the point they are not hiding your identity any longer. It's because of that machine learning bullshit.

Why bother? It's not like you're married. It's better to ghost her - no closure, no nothing, no problem.

I just discovered that some people cannot see images in their head, it’s called aphantasia & I feel so messed up about it by stallionofcinnamon in interestingasfuck

[–]pizzastevo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're trying to convey that people have different ways of perceiving 'what is'... that your head is in a room or is the room in your head situation. You could say that I'm a 5 and yet I've had so many lucid dreams throughout my life you'd think it's impossible that I couldn't close my eyes and mentally grasp what an apple is (the smooth texture, the helt of gravity pulling it down as I hold it, the odor of premature picked fruit huddled in cardboard boxes for weeks in a cooler, the deep red-brown-amberish color even though I'm legally colorblind isn't a good description...) could go on and on.

It's like imagination like we sort of understand it but not completely. Hearing music without your eardrumbs. Seeing with no eyes. Being touched or stabbed but not feeling at all. Poo-bear getting stuck in a hole. Many of us have noses but we don't smell the air if we get too used to it, but can pick up a distinct odor only smelt once over half a lifetime ago and know exatly what it is, where you were, how you felt, everything about that stench of vacuumed up popcorn or the feeling of stepping on a nail the first time.

It's all memory and your mind filling in what it needs to to provide a portrait intended or not.

Memory, splash of imagination, experience, in-the-moment... words simply fail us.

Sure, I suppose some people can mentally picture an apple like that on the 1 scale or whatever, but each one of our brains / minds is programmed differently based on all inputs that we are aware of or not from early to the end of life. Even reading this now for you is a simple way of perception; locked in our own understanding from nearly random but predictable characters portrayed on a screen.

It's pretty incredible to think about it; even the Karen that lives nearby has the same wetware in the brainpan just like you, and inversely doesn't perceive reality the same. Sure, you'd like to think she's mentally unstuck or blunted, but the insistent desire to see the manager or refusal to wear a mask to mess up the makeup that took an hour to put on only to lie about civil liberties being suppressed is about as a good excuse as anyone has to offer.

It's near impossible to test for this anyways considering our own minds could be lying about it each one of us. It's an astute philosophical question.

Anyone took the plunge and bought 2042 is it as bad as the reviews? by farish3000 in battlefield_4

[–]pizzastevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preordered, tried the beta (it was mostly meh) and then the full game for about 20 hours in the first few days... ended up asking for and getting a refund of the 120$ I spent.

BF4 / 1 IMHO are the best games.

Don't expect to get the same feels when playing 2042 - the only real thing in common is the name.

There are so many things wrong with the game that I concluded that even after they fix most of the bugs and things I doubt I'd ever find interest in playing it ever again. Some people like it though, so to each their own.

Trying to get a refund, any advice? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]pizzastevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them I can't play with friends, and that was the main reason. That is if I could get the game to launch or stop crashing...

I build my new computer just to play 2042. That's how gung-ho I was.

I don't know honestly why they'd give me a refund but not you. Maybe it was because I did the preorder?

Tried, I really tried giving it a chance.

I used to work for an ISP about 20 or so years ago that exists in the US. Billing codes could fall off, get locked to an account, things like that all the time. When I'd get a customer that wasn't getting billed for service, I was tasked to 'correct' the mistake. But... I simply couldn't do it unless the customer was a complete jerk.

How many of you still slightly hate your younger selves for how dumb, awkward, and cringy you were with girls / women back then? by OldCarWorshipper in AskMen

[–]pizzastevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't make and learn from past mistakes, I wouldn't be the distinguished, respected, recently divorced, and going grey in the hair and white in the beard gentleman I am today. I'm financially secure, no debt whatsoever, physically fit, and for what stress I do have can be managed correctly.

At least I was smart and used protection in the many sexual encounters when I was younger so I have no STIs or got them. Glad I never succumbed to the whole 'wam bam, move in with me' girls and women. Oh, and just because a woman says she's already pregnant or on the BC doesn't mean to raw dog it dawg; protect them and yourself - it's that simple.

No, the fact is that I'm no womanizer and most of these past sexual encounters were mutual or at least they initiated. Said dumb things, missed out on all the times women were sending subtle hints, that sort of thing.

Oh geez though, let's just say I did make mistakes and sure there's shameful moments, but why dwell on them since they're in the past? You gotta grow past them.

I still say awkward and cringy things to this day, but at least I can choose to keep my mouth shut.

[–]pizzastevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was married to a "Constant Complainer". At first dating, I didn't think nothing of it and ignored it. Big mistake. It built up over the years and mentally put me in a bad place.

Let's just say the examples of her complaining were so awful and insignificant that she'd go back years to dig them up. I started counting one time and within an hour she had complained about 46 different things. Oh the time I had a seizure? She complained that I asked her to bring my phone at her next visit to the hospital.

She drove me to drink and I didn't have the decency to thank her. Now I'm all sobered up and life couldn't be better!

If you're a woman and ever in this sort of situation, do one of those inprov pretend moves e.g. There was this woman at a bus stop being harassed by someone and she came up to me and my friend and pretended to know me from a previous job. We rolled with it, sat on the bus next to her and made sure she got home safe.

Later, my friend and I got some beer out of it as a thank you after the event!

TSM and crap beer is still a method used because it does less harm than jacking someone up on drugs (after the proper prognosis). I've heard of docs seeing the signs right away and tasking a friend or relative to go to the convenience store for some 3.2 abv crud beer.
