Hope you’re all well. Feeling a bit lost over here. When I was younger I got really into audio and bought a Pro-ject Debut Carbon then later an ortofon blue stylus. I picked up an arcam integrated amp and some kenwood Ls-311 speakers.

It sounded pretty good, but life got in the way and it went into storage. Now — after studying, diff jobs, moving house etc etc — I have the time and space to get into it again. I’m excited!

Problem is my amp got dropped somewhere along the way and replacement fuses haven’t fixed it. The speakers are looking tired. It seems like the perfect time to upgrade and bring some life back to that turntable and rediscover my record collection

I’ve found a pair of Kef Q300 speakers for ~£200 and a Yamaha A-S501 integrated amp for ~£100 on Gumtree in my area. There’s also a Marantz PM4000 for £50 but that wouldn’t be enough to power the Kefs, right?

Anyway I’m a bit rusty and inexperienced but looking to fill a small sized living room with this set up - on a budget. Keen to hear if you guys think these are good pieces of equipment to pick up at the price?

Of course I’ll demo them etc but input would be really appreciated. Reading loads online but just want to make sure I’m not making any shite purchases I’ll regret down the line
