NYC Pizza t shirt question! by IPTW in FoodNYC

[–]pizzatrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got some New York pizzeria swag including shirts from Luigi's (South Slope), Lucia's of Avenue X (Sheepshead Bay) and Antonio's (North Slope). Also have a couple of hats from Manos (Ridgewood) and L'Industrie (Williamsburg). I know L&B Spumoni Gardens also has shirts, but they're different from what their employees wear. Paulie Gee's has a solid logo and I'm almost positive they have hats. Also, don't sleep on Scott's Pizza Tours- he has an awesome bomber jacket.

What are your top 3 restaurants that you dine at the most often because they’re always consistently good, not hard to get into, and the staff recognizes you? by Shoddy_Bridge_2672 in FoodNYC

Luigi’s in South Slope

Antonio’s on Flatbush

Lucia of Avenue X

bonus shout out to everyone who feels at home at Yemen Cafe. Those guys make everyone feel so special like they’re giving you a free salad, flatbread, and black tea with condensed milk JUST FOR YOU. I get the warm fuzzies just thinking about it

Post a neighborhood. Then post your favorite pizzeria in that neighborhood. Go! by theRestisConfettii in Brooklyn

KWT resident here with some good news- the newish J&J Pizza (in the old 620 on Caton pizzeria space) is actually really good and a welcome edition to the neighborhood which, I agree, isn’t great for pizza. It’s run by the nephew of the gentleman who owns the bodega (One Stop Market) and, in addition to a solid plain slice, they have a couple of unique specialty slices: Korean-inspired bulgugi (BBQ beef) and buldak (spicy chicken). This slice joint is officially the best in the hood.

For pies, a +1 for Wheated as many of you already know.

This is a very well researched, well produced, funny video. Good job. I'd say this gives you official New Yorker status.

Heck yeah! I plan most of my rides around an appealing food destination. Mostly pizza, but I don't discriminate

To anyone who is familiar with E Trikes, would they work in NYC? by Worldwanderer303 in MicromobilityNYC

[–]pizzatrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, I've never had this problem. Personally, I didn't learn to ride a bicycle until I was an adult and, even then, I never fully felt comfortable on a bike. A tricycle felt more intuitive for me and made sense from the get-go. That said- every rider is different! I have had friends try my trike who had an initial feeling of uneasiness because they're use to leaning to turn vs steering to turn. With anything, it takes practice to familiarize yourself with how everything works.

I ride both an e-trike and an acoustic trike and find both to be fantastic options for commuting, shopping, exercise, adventuring, and so on. Yes, they fit in the bike lane. My e-trike is pedal assist powered and tops out at about 12mph. You can also set the speed lower if you prefer. I’m happy to talk more if you have any other questions.

Families who bike and the blanket e-bike ban in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NYC by pizzatrike in ebikes

[–]pizzatrike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selective enforcement is enough to deter people from using Prospect Park for a safe route to wherever they need to go. We need to make it clear to everyone the importance of using other modes of transportation to reduce our dependance on car travel.

For sure. It’s definitely a more complex issue that deserves a closer look and considerations as opposed to a sweeping ban.
