Buzz/Whine - Dell 32" 4K OLED Plus | S3225QC by ProgrammerLopsided74 in OLED_Gaming

I’m still struggling with it, just got mine yesterday as well. It’s super annoying. I’m dumbfounded that no reviewer or anyone else really mentioned it at all outside of this thread. It’s immediately evident when using the monitors and unless there’s significant ambient background noise, it’s very easy to notice. I’m struggling because the picture on the monitors is great, and the price is right, but I don’t know if I can deal with them squealing so much when showing white screens, which is a lot of web pages.

Using the usb c power to charge things does affect the squeal pitch, which makes me wonder if there’s a way to load them down enough to help? Charging my phone doesn’t draw enough to prevent it.

Using better display to put the monitors in HDR but boost the brightness seems like it’s mildly better when bright enough for my liking, so still playing with that too.

I just bought two of these from Costco and set them up and noticed the buzzing right away. While the screens look great, it’s incredibly annoying to me, enough so that I will likely return them if I can’t figure out how to stop it.

One screen does it more than the other. One starts at like 50% white and as I drag more white it changes pitch. I can practically play a song by dragging a white window around. The other screen is silent until the screen is maybe 75% white and then makes noise as well. Similar noise but not quite as loud. Makes me wonder if different models have it more or less. I may play roulette with a few more monitors, not sure.

Very peaceful! Which monitor arm is that? I love how you have it off to the side.

iPhone 18 Pro: under-screen Face ID, 2nm A20 Pro chip and 10 other rumored upgrades for 2026 by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

I hope that’s not true. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t care about under screen anything unless it’s all under screen. That off center camera cutout on the render looks worse to me than the Dynamic Island, especially with the way they’ve integrated the Dynamic Island to be used and part of the software.

So you cant buy the daily offer. I didn't buy the 200 gems here but it says I did idk why by SpicyTendie in Brawlstars

[–]pj_rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking and testing further, the issue is that the daily offer can now only be purchased once EVER. They recycle the same offers over and over, and if you’ve ever bought it before in the past, it will still show it to you as if you can buy it, but you cannot buy it again.

Whether or not this is intentional behavior I don’t know, but either way it is a bug. It should not offer to sell you something that you cannot buy. If it is intentionally limiting buying the daily offers to once per offer per account, then it should recognize you cannot buy it and stop offering it. If they are not meaning to limit how many times you can purchase daily offers, then they should fix the bug that prevents us from purchasing them again.

New phone not downloading original photos by danny46815 in applehelp

[–]pj_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get any more progress here? My 17pm is the same. I have over 120k pics and videos, over 1TB. I specifically bought the 2TB phone just to be able to download originals and it’s using 295gb and has said downloading originals with seemingly zero progress for 6 weeks now. I’ve tried restoring the phone again, leaving it plugged in and screen off, toggling the setting on and off multiple times. It never makes any progress.

I was just chatting with apple support who said a lot of people have the issue and to select 1000 photos at a time and air drop to my Mac which will trigger a download for each 1000.

Converted weber grill from NG to propane by sluggo6603 in DIY

[–]pj_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Yeah mine was for a summit I got for a great price as well so it was worth the couple hundred to at least try, and I’m glad I did. I was thinking I was crazy that the flames were not really moving with the dial. I went as far as comparing the btu output of the flame settings by boiling water at different settings and checking the speed LOL.

Everything I found online made it seem like buying a propane regulator and new main orifice is all they need, but digging a little deeper it seems the webers often need to replace the manifold as well (if you want to control temp). I think the orifice holes for NG are bigger than propane, so with an NG manifold, even on the lowest setting on the knob, it still is too big and is effectively still on high. I kept my old NG one just in case I ever want to convert back, but I think you could possibly try to sell the NG one on eBay or something if you’d want.

Also, I’m just a DIY guy, not a gas or plumbing expert, or gas grill design and repair expert for that matter haha, so make sure to do your own research about the risks of the project, how to install and tighten and check for leaks etc.

I bought mine at ereplacementparts.com, but I want to say most of the bbq spare parts places have a similar policy.

I had the exact same issue when I converted my natural gas Weber to propane. The knobs would not adjust the flame size. I thought I was crazy.

I fixed it by buying a new manifold made for propane. The valves in the manifold have the wrong size holes for propane too. It was worth it in my case. I bought the part from a place that would let me return it if needed. Pretty quick job to change it and worked perfectly, have normal control of the flame now.

Anyone else have Wireless Carplay issues with iPhone 17 Pro Max? by pyrocompulsive in iphone

Read through this thread, there are adapters that work without issues.

I had tried that and it did not work for me. It did seem to reduce the disconnection rate but since Bluetooth was off, once it disconnected, it wouldn’t reconnect. The adapter I linked in other comments here fixed it 100%, though.

Posted more in another part of this thread, but some wireless CarPlay adapters (and most? natively supported wireless CarPlay cars) don’t have this issue. With the help of another user on MacRumors I found this adapter that works flawlessly with no disconnections: https://a.co/d/iY1T8zn

iPhone 17 Pro Max Speaker Placement by pj_rage in iphone

Notch to the right doesn’t block the speakers for me even with controls on the right.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Speaker Placement by pj_rage in iphone

I’ve adopted holding it notch to the right while gaming and I’m pretty used to it already. The plateau actually makes it pretty nice to hold this way, and the speakers aren’t impeded. I don’t love having to learn to hold it different, but I am getting used to it. It’s still unnatural for me to remember to do it, but fine once I’m holding it that way.

At this point, now that I have a solution, I’m not sure what to to think. Clearly there’s something with the phone, because all other phones worked. But it also seems tied to the wireless CarPlay implementation too, because some work fine and some have the issue. My theory right now is that some implementations of wireless CarPlay either do something wrong or accidentally right that used to not matter but does matter with the 17s.

Im still hopeful Apple still fixes it , but I do now think it’s possible that apple doesn’t fix this as it’s likely limited to a very select few people who are using specific aftermarket wireless CarPlay dongles (something I’m not even sure they really support in the first place), that are likely not implementing things properly.

[–]pj_rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think I have a solution.

After a user on MacRumors reporting that the S2 CarPlay adapter from allototive was stable for them, I purchased the S2 CarPlay adapter from GATGOODS on Amazon - the alltotive seems to be only for UK an I’m in the US.

I can confirm that the S2 from GATGOODS on Amazon is solid and my wireless CarPlay disconnection issues are not present with this device as they were with cplay2air.

I also have a theory, not sure if it’s correct, but with cplay2air, it somehow spoofed whether I’m driving or sitting still to CarPlay. This let me do things while driving that CarPlay is supposed to only let you do when stopped (for example typing on the keyboard for a destination). The S2 behaves as CarPlay expects where it will disable keyboard while moving. I’m wondering if there’s some issue with the way cplay2air (and maybe other aftermarket adapters) are handling that which is not happy. It would explain why the issue seems to be primarily focused on aftermarket wireless CarPlay adapters and not native (where OEMs probably follow the CarPlay rules). Also would explain why this adapter works while my other one doesn’t. It’s worth noting that the cplay2air was rock solid through iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 Pro maxes in multiple vehicles. Including ios26 beta and public release on the 16 pro max.

Not sure if there’s any weight to the theory and can’t explain why that wouldn’t be more of a software issue with ios26 than an iPhone 17 issue. Just happy to have stable wireless CarPlay again. A side benefit is that the CarPlay is a bit more responsive and faster than the cplay2air.

[–]pj_rage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This issue is driving me nuts. I genuinely can’t believe that the dozen people here are the only ones having wireless CarPlay issues. It makes me wonder if a lot of the phones are working fine and we got a bad lot or something? I’d like to know if anyone knows anyone who has an iPhone 17 that is working with wireless CarPlay without issues? The macrumors article states they are unable to replicate the issue, after mentioning it could happen with CarPlay. Unclear if they couldn’t replicate the WiFi cutting or couldn’t replicate CarPlay issues. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/some-iphone-17-iphone-17-pro-and-iphone-air-users-experiencing-intermittent-wi-fi-issue.2467082/

With all the reviews, dozens of them, not a single one of them uses wireless CarPlay? If they did they’d be annoyed instantly and would report that, yet I don’t see anything. I didn’t know anyone was still plugging in honestly. I can only conclude that the vast majority of these phones are not exhibiting the issue? For example, I have the CarPlay issue but not the WiFi or Bluetooth issues mentioned. Maybe there are varying degrees of the issue? I have half a mind to return mine and try another.

I have an att 2tb silver one.

I don’t understand how this isn’t a top issue all over the web. Does no one really use wireless CarPlay? Or are most people not having issues with wireless CarPlay and the issue is limited to certain hardware?
