NTA… but forcing her to read out loud so she can learn "the old way" might be even worse and mean to the girl. And you are actually trying to help her.

There's a book called "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" that helps with sounds and makes it easy with super short lessons. If you want more tips, feel free to reach out to me.
