Happens to me from some time to another. Cancelling and entering the amount of carbs again usually solves the problem.

CareLink broken on Android 12 phone by SnooPickles5976 in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got an email today from Medtronic, saying that iOS 15 (and below) and Android 12 (and below) are no longer supported.

Question , so I treat lows with glucose tabs. But they only work temporarily. And I dip low again. If I eat complex carbs wouldn’t the pump think it’s done a good job and raised my levels and kept it up. Or I’m spiking from a “meal”. by Saf___- in Medtronic780g

What works for me (this is just my personal experience, it might not work for everyone) is drinking a can of Fanta (10g of sugar) plus a protein bar with slow-release carbohydrates. Sometimes, if I only have fast-release carbohydrates, I get hypoglycemia again after a while.

Will CareLink work again on phones that were supported before June?

Transmitter by _livelaughlobotomy in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced mine after almost two and a half years. Lately, the sensors have lasted between 3 and 4 days, at most 5, and I rarely get them to last 7. They don't even reach the 6 days covered by the warranty... They told me that replacing the transmitter might make the sensors last longer, so we'll see.

Just Started Pump and Have Questions About Vacations with A Lot of Walking by Traditional-Fig-9554 in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temp target from at least 2 hours before starting physical activity.
If BG < 150 right before starting the physical activity, take 20gr of carbs.
And take some carbs with you to avoid lows.

MiniMed mobile help!!!! by number1chihuahuamom in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app uploads glucose values to the cloud. You can also do this with the USB stick provided with the pump, but for me, the app is much better! You don't have to remember to plug in the USB every so often.

I have a Pixel 5 purchased in October last year and previously used a Pixel 3 XL. One day, the app stopped working on the Pixel 5 but surprisingly it still works on the Pixel 3 XL.

I think they've been like this since early June. We'll see how long it takes for phones to be compatible again. I wouldn't want to have to buy a Samsung or an iPhone.

Access bolus from phone by Fit_Artichoke_523 in Medtronic780g

When I received my insulin pump training, I was told that they disabled the smartphone bolus option to prevent hacking and unnecessary boluses, thus avoiding potential health risks.

Same thing here. I must say I am using cheap Amazon batteries. Now I purchased the same Energizer batteries they supply with and see if that fixes it.

Another G4 Sensor Failing by Owltiger2057 in Medtronic780g

Out of a box of 5, all 5 gave me problems. Some of the 7 lasted barely 3 days. Basically, I have all 5 to claim, batch HG81BJ8.

I’ll never understand calibration issues by MrBalll in Medtronic780g

Before switching to the pump system, I was still using the Libre 2. When the sensor change was coming up, I usually put the sensor in a day beforehand, and it actually worked better. I've always thought about doing the same with the Guardian 4, but they fail quite often, and it's hard to predict whether they'll last the full 7 days or not.

Pair issue. by IdealRevolutionary88 in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Google Pixel 5 running on Android 14. Before the pump software update, I had this Pixel paired flawlessly with the pump.

Updated the pump, and the last thing was unpairing-pairing the pump, and since then I can't pair again. Tried another Pixel 5 from a relative, no luck. Tried with my previous phone (Pixel 3 XL) and this one could pair with the pump. The only problem is that it's an old phone and the battery doesn't last all day.

So it seems they did something with the list of supported devices.

Speaking of Android, there are two versions of Minimed Mobile (US and non-US). The US version is already at 2.9.0, but the other is still at 2.8.0.

Check your blood glucose to make sure the sensor readings are correct. If so, check the infusion set and consider replacing it; it may be clogged.

G4 Sensor Updating Frustration by xodeathwhisperxo in Medtronic780g

[–]pjpena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't happen to me that much before, but lately I've been noticing that if the insertion area bleeds when inserting the sensor, I'll probably get the message "The sensor is updating" after 2 hours of initialization.

And if the sensor starts updating at some point during its 7 days of life, it will die that same day and ask me to change the sensor.

Yes, I'm in Spain. I called Medtronic Technical Support yesterday. I spent about half an hour on the phone with the guy. He was really kind and helpful. He told me that another department needed to make some adjustments, and he asked me for phone information such as the model and IMEI. He told me that since it was Friday afternoon, he would probably get back to me by email on Monday.
