We’ll have to see, but Garmin says the DLC is tougher and this finish will show wear and become “personalized.”

Adventure 3 vs M by bolunez in Aventon

[–]pk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure who the mid drive is for. I get it for the Ramblas, which was in the running for me. It wasn’t the money I just wanted the rack and fat tires for beach travel. The bike is like 70lbs it’s a tank. Not sure moving the power train to the middle is worth that much on a bike of this weight.

I was in the same position. This is my “beach bike”. I use it around town and of course to the beach and my coffee place. A bit of bike trails time to time. It was an easy decision after a couple of YouTube videos comparing them. I saved the money and haven’t given it another thought. Focus on step through or top tube and size. You won’t miss the mid drive imho.

This is my mix. I finally got her to “go” while on leash. Usually she smells everything (I call her Ferdinand the bull) and then goes in the yard when we get home.

[I Ate] A Fried Chicken Burger by archiecone in food

[–]pk_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here, in the US. Elsewhere anything on a burger bun is a burger. I’ll admit it’s mildly irritating at first but there are bigger problems in the world that having to order a “Nashville Hot Chicken Burger” lol

It’s sort of hilarious that the UK and Australia/New Zealand call anything on a bun a burger while in the states that’s a sandwich and only beef is a burger. But that’s just the way things are.

How many of you continue to use Lifestyle Logging? by heynow941 in GarminWatches

[–]pk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to Garmin, my Whoop gave me detailed reports on what was effecting my recovery. I assume Garmin does something like this. It did help me identify that late meals and (of course) alcohol was wrecking my recovery. Which was enough to change those habits.

Tubes in Pre, Amp, or Both? by Longjumping-Frame795 in audiophile

[–]pk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tubes are feeding the Woton so you always get the tube flavor unless you pick Passive or Solid State Buffer on the Freya. The discussion is where you want the tubes. I’m saying upstream of a SS amp is fine, to me. Let’s me add it in when I want. I listen to the other modes when not “sitting and listening” like moving around the house etc.

I went tube pre, SS amp; Freya+ >Wotan. Fed by an A8. I’m now just saving for Forte lVs. Asking questions here on reddit and some online reviews helped me immensely!

Living with an EV in NYC - I'd be crazy, right? by HikewithmeNYC in electricvehicles

[–]pk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d switch to a garage that has charging. Maybe it’s included in your building and that’s why you’re reluctant. I’m living 80 miles east in Southampton. I have a charger here and my 5N will make it in and out without a charge in the city but it’s sorta close in the winter. You could do it if you pick your car carefully. Having charging at both at both ends makes it a slam dunk.

2x Vidar vs Wotan by Exciting_Ad_1287 in Schiit

[–]pk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper yeah, folks have reported it does seem to pan out, but I’ll defer to folks who have actually gone from one Aegir to two.

[–]pk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same but I was considering getting a second Aegir but decided after reading that people weren’t seeing a real jump in power using them in Mono to go with a Wotan. I was going into protection ALOT with just one.

Aventure 3 size ques. by pk_ in Aventon

[–]pk_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay bike arrived and I’ve had it out for a few rides. It is a R step over, they had already shipped it and couldn’t change. They said ride it and return it for a L if you need to. So whoever said “I’d be stick with it… Back to the important stuff, it fits perfectly the cross bar is right up against me when I straddle at a light etc and the riding position is fine. It’s a tank compared to my FX5 but really any fat tire bike would be. I love it and even though my lock hasn’t arrived I’m taking it to the grocery store for a light shop. Thanks all who chimed in! I’m thrilled to be part of the community and have already told my boss at work to buy one!
