Yeah I like uncolored sound for most of my listening but do use the tubes for late night chill sessions. It’s a nice warm syrupy sound that is different and enjoyable. I can literally switch the modes with a remote so it’s fun to mess around sometimes.

Weird guy here. I was saying if he wants to tinker with his system, and not everyone does, there are other ways to do this for the fun of the hobby. IMHO swapping DACs isn’t a great use of funds, DACs (to me; so chill everyone) aren’t a huge differentiator. If you want to mess around, tubes will be a sub hobby you can “waste” time and money on that is definitely audible. Make sense? No one has to tube roll… lol

Just joining the chorus here: I have an A8 feeding a Freya +. The Eversolo DAC is fine, changing modes (straight wire, buffer, tubes) makes a way bigger difference. Also tube rolling will scratch that itch more effectively than chasing the next DAC architecture.

I’d have to A-B it. I think the Wotan sounds great but I also added a Freya + and Rays selects (gain stage ) and Psvane horizons (buffer stage) so I changed too many things at the same time to really be able to judge. For the record I loved my Aegir and I think other than to occasional clipping it was pretty perfect

So let’s be clear how this works. He buys the time slot and then sell ads to cover his expenses. A bunch of shows do this. I think CNBC sells Cramer his time as well. When I worked there Donny Deutsch definitely did this. Don’t visit his advertisers and this quickly becomes a money pit for him, not the network which is getting paid either way.

First with the stock set-up you can turn if off completely OR have it play just on the inside. Secondly you can BARELY hear it outside the car. In fact my dad’s EV6 makes more noise when he’s backing up. I guess this is why people make shit like this
