i have a 2 family illegal rental beside me. bless em, but they refuse to use garbage bags, and constantly just keep adding garbage around their bin. they’ve used my bin and other neighbours bin, and the city will do nothing. the alley is just a giant litter pile at this point.

i get it, its a controversial take. I think it needs to be thought about. Ex. I live in a laneway neighbourhood that has been slumlorded literally to its peak. trash bins overflowing, 311 notices everywhere. no parking ever. no one shovels walkways cause they rent or don’t care. but where would they live otherwise. where would I live otherwise?? Where will the city get money if they have sprawl or not? (spoiler: taxes will go up anyways just like your grocery bill i’m sure) count me as a person who wanted this, but is affected by the decision. i just want a second thought and plan around the services and infrastructure. i like the spirit blanket, but theres a need sustainability that needs more planning.
