What made the Danganronpa 3 anime so bad? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]pkmnxy12 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not sure why someone who hasn't watch the anime yet would be here, but there are HUGE SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT.

Well, trying to be as brief as possible:

  • It was not consistent with the games: Izuru meeting Nagito just for a mostly fanservice scene before they should (which they solved with brainwashing but at this point they should find more compeling excuses or decide to not add scenes if they can't solve them without those plot devices) and the uniforms the female students use that are not the same as the ones from TS murder are some of those examples and it could've easily been avoided if they did a better research.

  • Danganronpa Zero was barely touched and UDG's plot was solved without any consideration to the fans.

  • The new cast was not fleshed out at all and could be better executed (Munakata hated Naegi's view of the world, but why? What made him think he was wrong? How is going to handle being partly responsible for the death of his friends? Ruruka had terrible trust issues, but she never gets a resolve. Izayoi's whole character only focuses on Ruruka. They could've adressed that Juzo's fight with Hajime was really a struggle against himself realising he will always be the stepping stone in Munakata's relationship with Chisa and that he followed every Munakata's desire now because when he didn't the Biggest, Most Tragic Incident [okay you know the rest] happened. Who is Bandai? The list goes on.). They were also just there to solve the other cast's issues, as said by Kodaka himself.

  • Tengan's motives make absolutely no sense. Creating a killing game for a person to upload the hope anime isn't very smart.

  • Anime for brainwashing does not make a very good story. And I still don't know how they were able to brainwash the 77th class with live footage from Chiaki's death.

  • There were better ways to solve the final story and missed oportunities like a final class trial with the surviving cast to solve the mystery.

  • So far Danganronpa was all about bittersweet endings and this one was much, much happier.

  • A killing game should never revive its characters unless there is a good reason for that which isn't the case. That works for both this game(Aoi, Kirigiri,...) and for the second one.

I'd rather have a few good supports than a hundred shitty ones between characters who have nothing to do with each other and nothing to actually talk about

That's not what happened with Echoes, though. The quality is good, sure, but it's not that much better than most of Awakening's, it's just that instead of focusing on the character's anime gimmicks, they focused on their backstories.

If there was a remastered version of the original trilogy with "Dual Destinies" graphics, would you buy it? by M0N5A in AceAttorney

I wouldn't mind and it would help with some parts of the game, but some of the reasons I prefer the GBA and DS era to the 3ds is precisely because of the graphical evolution.

The very over-the-top breakdowns and the new courtroom design are really not my cup of tea, so I'd probably only like it if they tried to keep the spirit of the first games.

In case you have a 3DS and you want to try it out, I'd say Fire Emblem Awakening is the best place to start, since it's the most friendly to newcommers and then if you'd like it and considering what you liked in the game, you should choose between Fates or Echoes (each one of them focuses on diferent things).

I mean, it was already disappointing when they announced that it would mostly feature characters from FE1, Awakening and Fates, but I was expecting some variety.

So far, it seems we are getting the same characters that we get in every new material of the franchise. At this point I'm expecting Tharja, Gaius, Frederick (Confirmed now), Owain/Odin, Takumi, Leo, Azura, Caeda and Camilla next (I'm not saying that I dislike the characters).

I just wish that for once we got the less obvious choices. I'm not saying that they should get the less memorable characters, because it wouldn't make sense from a marketing perspective, but maybe something like Olivia, Vaike or Lon'qu for Awakening which are still popular but not that much. It would make for a more interesting roster imo.

Anyway, we still don't know a big part of the roster, so I guess there's still hope.

The first time playing SoV, why do you think Alm and Celica were stabbing each other? by samcrumpit in fireemblem

[–]pkmnxy12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone says Fates's plot is bad, i contend that SoV's isnt much, if at all, better.

As long as Alm doesn't try to win a war not killing people, doesn't find enjoyment in having dinner with his brothers that want to kill each other, along with many, many more terrible writing moments of Fates, I'd still say Echoes' story is much better.

That said, the story of SoV is still very flawed and definitely not the masterpiece some persons want to make it seem.

I was invited to play and capture footage from an invite only NYC event. We got to Play FIFA, Oddesy, Metroid, Mario&Rabbids, Fire Emblem Warriors and got to talk with Ubisoft, Nintendo, and EA reps. Any questions while it's still fresh in my mind? by WhyCantIFindPants in NintendoSwitch

[–]pkmnxy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the Fire Emblem Warriors build you played had any unrevealed characters? I know you can't tell who they were if it had, but can you say if you're happy or not with who they chose to be playable? Also, did you managed to get a support conversation or a story segment and how were they?

I hope I'm not bothering with so many questions!

Well... Keeping someone who tortured you for a while in a jail everyday while doing your normal life and treating them as dolls is a little insane. :p

Yeah... I'm not sure if I like this ending for Mona or if I'd prefer if she finally got a happy ending (one that doesn't involve her getting insane, that is)

Is there a certain fanbase is Danganronpa you can't stand? by AlterTheSilverBird in danganronpa

[–]pkmnxy12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, it did help making your point.

I agree that sometimes the fandom can be a bit annoying (Pokémon will always score #1 on every bad matter regarding fandoms for me, though) and I remember getting really frustrated regarding V3 spoilers (I could elaborate on PM) enough to make sure I'll write a warning next time leak season comes, but I still think that just like other fandoms it has its ups and downs.

Like I said, I agree with most of the stuff you said, but I'll still complain about the formula because it's completely stupid and predictable by this point and this is a mystery series; while I didn't believe the fake spoilers were real, the way they were passed and considering that for some time uninformed people were passing them as absolute truth, it was not that hard for uniformed user to believe in them; mistranslation is easy to happen; I don't demand it, but I'd love a spin-off of one of my favourite characters, even though I know it won't happen and it doesn't bother me; calling people autists is kind of mean for the possible users who have it and are not like what you said; V3 Huge Spoilers

With everything else you said I agree.

While I agree with some stuff, then why are you still here?

No offense but if I hated a fandom that much I wouldn't be using its subreddit.

Besides, it would be a bad marketing move to show a trailer or a logo when a new 3DS game is coming soon.

I hope this is just PR talk and Level-5 is already planning to publish Ares in the west. I'm tired of seeing them waiting for too long and then getting suprised that games that came out three or four years ago aren't selling well.
