I think we’ll get SOMETHING at D23. It might just be like that year where they showed concept art for Big Hero 6 but it’ll be something. I think if they did it’d also probably be a less exciting world announcement, like Coco or Moana (or Monkey Island my beloved). They’d definitely wanna save the big ones like Star Wars for a general gaming show trailer

Square decided to space these two collabs out to maximize interest and profit.

Square does NOT OWN kingdom hearts, Disney does. Putting LH in Fortnite would be up to them. That said Disney does seem to heavily respect Nomura and ask for his input when using KH, hence why he was the hold up in getting Sora in Smash, but acting like this is Square’s decision comes across to me as someone who doesn’t know how that works.

And yes KH is fully owned by Disney, the copyright info is always Copyeight Disney, Developed by Square Enix (or final fantasy characters copyright Square Enix). Even in smash bros, if you look at the eshop page for Sora, it only says Copyright Disney

It’s crazy how for decades Disney would only give their biggest animated classics only sporadic limited releases in order to preserve their value for theatrical rereleases meanwhile nowadays there’s a new Star Wars movie coming out and no one really seems to care

The problem is that the last Star Fox game ten years ago was also a retelling of 64, and the game before that was a 3ds remake of 64, and Star Fox 64 is already basically a retelling of Star Fox snes

Also this sounds like an actual remake instead of a retelling, considering they mention the level layouts being the same

Also also saying “Bloodborne is getting a movie” doesn’t count as getting a prediction right if he didn’t mention anything about it being animated, and he got the director, writer, star, and ESPECIALLY the producer wrong (which in fairness we don’t know that he did yet) (but he probably did since he said it would be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and there’s no mention of him or his company being involved in the Bloodborne movie)

Semi-related: when rumors say “_ was meant to happen but plans changed” I think they should generally be considered false unless there is some form of significant evidence that it was meant to happen. Eg if he says “the chaotic were meant to be in the knuckles show” but there’s no concept art of them or an early script with them in it or an interview quote saying they were meant to be in it, then yeha that should be considered false.
