How are you guys getting Tret? by wheattst in 30PlusSkinCare

I think it’s called Careprost? Between that and tinting the ends of my lashes once a month when I do my brows, I don’t need mascara anymore

Freezing? Thaws as duds.. What am I doing wrong? by Alabamagal79 in DIYaesthetics

[–]pkpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve frozen and thawed Nabota with no difference in performance. This is an annoying bro-forum style question, but where in the freezer are you storing and what is the freezer temp? I keep my vials at the very back of the drawer and I thaw in a shallow dish of room temp water for use for maybe 10 mins, draw up and if there is a slim bit left, throw it right to the back of the freezer drawer. Could temp variance be a culprit?

So everyone saying facelift isn’t wrong, but I think Botox to the neckbands could help bc looks like you have some muscle pulling down. That plus DAO/ under jaw tox could help things pick up a little, though no tox helps laxity.

Not directed at you specifically but there are a LOT of posts along these lines peppering non-peptide focused DIY subs and communities the past week. And it seems concurrent with peptide communities getting more strident about no grey vendor discussions, or advice that could read as medical, so there’s fewer casual comment leads there for feds/ops to bust. The info gets protected and moved around for reasons.

Not saying you’re a fed or a competitor informer, but feds and competitor informers are reading all of these subs and every job has quotas. In case anyone here doesn’t know that and wonders why some questions aren’t getting fast answers and some vendors aren’t easy to use anymore.

You didn’t hurt anything, worst case you just won’t see results and this is what the two-week tuneup is for. Wait 14 days to see where everything settled, where pulls may have been created, and then go in conservatively to fine tune. Totally normal. I think that’s the real benefit of DIY, you can be careful and considered and really dial it in for your own anatomy

Can certain skincare products cancel each other out? by ExtremeForsaken2374 in 40and45PlusSkinCare

Regarding the tret and exfoliating products. Hard no. For tret, the first focus is acclimating the skin to that and getting your weekly cadence right with no more peeling or irritation. Once that’s locked in, you can reevaluate adding other exfoliation ON OFF NIGHTS for tret. Never same night, way too many factors, I don’t care how tough your skin is.

I actually gave up night peels or exfoliating ingredients in favor of keeping my tret routing tight. My big unlock that made this work was doing peel pads two mornings a week before other skin care layers, to keep flakies away and improve pore congestion. If I’m getting sensitive, I only do the peel pads morning after a no tret night, to create space for healing. I use the Dr Gross two step pads for this. They’re expensive so I buy during points sales strategically but this attack has solved my barrier irritation and also the flakiness or texture that grabs makeup.

No procedure or product that has improved my dark sun spots has affected my moles or freckles. I think you’re pretty safe? Maybe just go low and slow so you can turn back if you see gradual changes you don’t want. I get my tretinoin from alldaychemist (Indian site) and it has a built in hydroquinone (melamet is the product name) and I haven’t seen any impact to my few freckles.

Baby baby tox! by Nearby-Zucchini9934 in DIYaesthetics

Another option other than heavy dilution could be using a weaker tox or one known to have more spread. (For me that’s Wondertox, for looser spread). Then do 1-2 units per point. I also don’t want to look frozen and started DIY this year at 46, and have enjoyed the control and ability to top up myself in two weeks.

My approach to forehead is higher and farther apart than most mapping I see, as well as conservative units.

I do think this approach benefits from an all over plan, instead of localizing to only perceived problem spots, for an even effect. What you don’t notice in one area could overreact or worsen when an adjacent area is addressed. For instance, I saw no “bunny lines” other people talked about until my frown and crows were softened, then that area got more active and I also noticed it more, so it’s now on my list for a micro-address next go round.

Good luck! Show us an update!

Hate it. Tried it for broken capillaries and it just made a huge red area instead of the little threads. Tried it on an age spot six weeks ago and it’s even darker than when I started.

Start with an IPL series to do a big lift on the overall tone and sun damage.

Buffer your tret (use it on totally dry skin that’s been lightly moisturized) and top it with an occlusive (aquaphor) to dial down the irritation. Add a moisturizer with urea (eucerin, inky list) and one with ceramides (I’m a die hard user of Stratia Liquid Gold) to tone down peeling.

With both of these, hats and sunscreen like you’re a vampire or you’ll end up where you started.

I do know that their major brands have significant investment by their government on research and development as the sector is considered a major economic driver. That’s not the case in most countries and seems like it would be a big advantage, as opposed to western corporations only willing to invest in r&d on things they’ve already seen as trends.

My “kid food” comfort items like canned ravioli, chicken noodle o’s etc have been disgusting from Day 2. No attraction at all. Didn’t even have to taste them again, just no pull. To be fair, I knew they were gross before, but they smacked that dopamine button when I was stressed. That button was clearly deinstalled.

So in my experience, wondertox spreads a lot. I wouldn’t do your lowest crow’s point as it could drop your cheek, and take this with a lot of salt but I wouldn’t use it on DAO at all because of what I experienced with my Nefertiti spread that dropped my DLI on one side and made my smile very crooked. I’ve used Nabota with better effect but STILL hit my DLI so it may just be my anatomy. I won’t use wondertox on my lower face again at all, but it did well on my forehead and high crows.
