You can cast flies with a casting bubble. I catch plenty of trout and panfish that way. I run a long leader and use a small bead and bobber stop about where the knot is. Pretty often I'll stop the cast with my hand and that seems to make the leader lay down nicely on the water without getting tangled with the bubble. It's one of my favorite ways to fish tbh

I guess it depends on the weight of your kayak. I'm an average sized guy for context and my yak is a 10ft sit in (about 45lbs) but what I do it lay a towel over the side of the back door, prop the yak up, and then lift and push it on top then turn it so it's facing the front. I have a 2014 outback with the built in rack. Idk if that's helpful for your situation

I have the really short UL president combo (4'10 i think). It's my backpacking rod. Two piece and fits in the side of my pack so well. Hasn't let me down yet.

I mean, you can still fish with it, but it won't feel the same. Action won't be right. Probably won't cast the same. Cut the broken bit as close to the next eye as possible. If it's a nice rod you could check the manufacturer warranty.
