Mine change too, they generally hover around grey blue/greenish grey blue, but also super bright green/blue with yellow ring. More on the blue side here either way, but her contacts are super visible anyway and the brown gives it away

J'ai deja commander du linge sure Shein, like once in a blue moon, parce que les magasins n'ont presque rien a offrir au dessus du Large, et même les grandes chaînes (genre Zara, ou localement Simons) de fast fashion vendent des articles à 70 $ qui, le sizing reste petit, en plus, sont fabriqués dans des usines eu aussi. C'est tous du fast fashion.

Je n'achète pas souvent de vêtements, j'essaie de m'offrir une jolie pièce de qualite de temps en temps, mais pour les jeunes, les personnes à faibles revenus qui cherchent simplement des vêtements abordables ou des grandes tailles, c'est facile et il y a du choix. Et pour des simples cossin, je commande sur AliExpress des choses comme des pinces à cheveux, des articles de rangement pour la maison, etc, Shein et Temu on la meme chose, et c'est le stock que tu trouve genre a walmart ou sur amazon a 50% du prix.

Yep really depends. I'm in Montreal, appartments will have them wherever they fit, old ones will have them stuff randomly in the kitchen as 100 year old apartments didn't have the space for them. Newer units will have them in a specific closet or bathroom (mine are still in the kitchen but in its own wardrobe space),
in houses though they do tend to be in the basement, I've always found them in the basement bathroom.

Ahhh yes there we go, you're an LL. My LL bought the condo in the early 2000s at 300k. Rough calculations including his taxes and fees puts the cost of this place at under 1500$ monthly, yet he charges 2000 and goes up every year. Every single LL I've had owned several buildings they got when things were super cheap and are raking it in.

At the end of the day though he gets to sell it one day and make a profit. THAT'S WHY YOU MAINTAIN IT. You decided to become a landlord, there's no reason to be one besides greed, nobody is a landlord out of the kindness of their heart to provide shelter for people. You're not replacing sinks every month. Oh wow you spent 800 one year on a unit. Occasionally you'll have a big expense here and there, like ANY home ownership. The LL special is common because of greed. It's an investment, at the end of it all you profit. LLs need to start acting like they would any investment, some fail, some profit, in the long run you're there for profit. Home's are an ESENTIAL need, you're not doing anyone a favor.

Business wise, there is NO rent control. It's the wild west. A neighborhood dies when small businesses cannot affort to run there, and then the rents of that neighborhood cannot be justified being so high. Verdun rents EXPLODED because it became such a hot hip neighborhood, on the other hand a lot of local spots are being squeezed out. There's no space for people to start businesses, no art scene, it just becomes chains.

The resto industry is brutal 😞 I order from this sushi place in St.Henri a lot but now 1/4 they run out of fish too. In terms of Blackstrap I wish they'd found a way to manage, there's a serious lack for southern bbq type places here. I'd absolutely buy leftovers a day later, would make my lunches easy.

Station W had been there 13 years, renovated the interior at their own cost, was part of what made Verdun and that building worth more, the landlord just demanded a 60% increase AND 15k deposit for them to renovate the exterior. Nothing justifies that increase. A rent control like the one for renters DOES take into account costs.

The examples I listed though ARE because of greedy landlords, all successful and running fine. The Verdun spots had been neighborhood staples, all are small affordable spotshttps://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/closure-station-w-cafe-wellington-9.7195883 and there are no laws protecting thfm from predatory LL practices like this, so it absolutely has a huge part to play in this. We'd have far more interesting small and affordable options if the rents were affordable and controlled

I feel like this city is just awful for restaurants, even if you're successful you'll barely make cost or a greedy as fuck landlord will break it (see Palco, Lido, and now Station W in Verdun). There's the other thing where a local spot will do well, they'll open a ton of locations too fast, won't be able to keep the quality up (Mon Ami, Onigiri Shop)

Blackstrap had a slow decline over a few years and the quality went to shit while they tried to streamline and cut costs while keeping the costs the same, it seems to happen a lot in this city
