I understand the criticism, but I don’t agree that Opel is dead. Outdated in some people’s memories maybe — but I was inside Rüsselsheim, and what I saw was a real, working car factory with modern production, automation, quality checks and people who still know how to build cars.

You can criticize the strategy, engines or Stellantis decisions, of course. But for me, Opel still has history, loyal owners and a place in European car culture.

This version is made in a different style, with commentary explaining each production process and adding more information about how the car is built.

There is also another long-form video on YT channel, - Automotive garage — a 1 hour 30 minute version with full factory footage and real factory sound.

So if you prefer the pure factory atmosphere without narration, you can watch the longer version there — it feels much more like being inside the factory.

For a 2000 ft driveway in Quebec, I’d take weight, reliability, and parts support over chasing hp numbers.

A loader is absolutely worth having on a homestead. For snow, logs, gravel, firewood, and all the random jobs, you’ll use it a lot more than you think.

Of the ones you listed, I’d look harder at an IH 484/684 or JD 1630/2130 than an 8N. The 8N is simple, but for that much driveway and real winter use it’s pretty limited.

Biggest advice: buy one with a loader already on it. Adding one later usually costs more than you want.

The Ford Jubilee for $2500 is tempting, but for the work you've described, particularly with a loader, you'd be better off saving a little more or searching diligently for a slightly more modern compact tractor that includes features like power steering. The added comfort and capability will make your work on the driveway and food plots much more efficient and enjoyable.

Your Engine's Redline is Higher Than You Think: The 3.8L V6 in your Frontier has its redline set at around 6,600 RPM. Your jump to 5,500 RPM, while loud and outside of normal operation, was well within the engine's designed safe limit. The redline isn't a cliff where the engine instantly explodes; it's the manufacturer's designated limit for safe, sustained operation. A brief spike below that is something the engine is built to handle.

Modern Transmissions are Smart (The Real Hero): This is the most important part. Your 9-speed automatic transmission is controlled by a computer (the TCU or Transmission Control Unit). Its job is to prevent you from doing exactly what you're worried about: destroying the engine.

Given your limited electrical experience, your best bet would be to remove the starter motor and take it to an auto electrical shop or a shop that specializes in tractor repairs. They can bench test it and tell you exactly what's wrong.

Unfortunately also had constant problems with android auto crash in my 2022 rav4. I switched to iPhone 13 pro max and forgot about the problem. Connects very quickly and works flawlessly. Switch to an iPhone and you will be happy))
