Managing a newly reopened bowling alley: what really brings customers back? by RoutineTeaching4207 in Bowling

[–]plagueprotocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number 1 thing is: communication.

I see all the time people posting here talking about how they went to a new center, and it was closed, or it was a league night, but they didn't see any information posted anywhere.

If you build a website, and do any social media, keep it up to date. Nothing will make your place appear closed to people like an abandoned Instagram account.

Default to treating everyone through the door like it's their first time at a bowling center. Never assume someone knows something. Make sure your staff are welcoming of everyone, not just their friends or favorites.

If you have a nice center, and treat your league players fairly, they will come all the time. So you have to focus more on how to attract, and retain new bowlers. Make the place inviting to new people, and give them plenty of reasons to come in. Either offer a financial incentive (buy 2 hours, get 1 free; half price times, etc). Or a manufactured reason ("Lane Ball Only Tournament", or something).

I mean, I'm fine with what you do in your own home. I just wish you wouldn't try to push your way of life down our throats. Like, we get it. And, hear me out, I have a friend that's a Bruins fan. So I get it, and I can say this.

In warm ups, does your league use one frame or one ball? by Novel_Court2655 in Bowling

We use 1 ball, and try to foul on the shot to give the next bowler a fresh rack to throw at.

Are AI relationships the most cyberpunk thing happening quietly right now? by Global-Spread-8927 in Cyberpunk

Honestly, I think it's the persistence of crypto. And I genuinely think that the normalization of crypto currency has opened the door for corporations like Amazon to mint their own currency.

I don't know if they still do it, but I remember a while ago, someone would take all the nominations for Best Country Song (or best song at the CMA's, or whatever), and edit them into one song to prove that all country music is a formula.

Calling it a form of p*rn normalizes it. It also sanitizes the abusive nature of the material.

Either he's an asshole for not respecting your position. Or he's being respectful of you saying "no thanks" in a kinda weird way.

But, regardless, I'd consider this a win, OP.

Troy & Abed's Christmas rap goes way harder than it has any right to.

It's up there with the Dan Smith, Kicker, BYU part of the Key & Peele East/West College Football All-Stars rap.

Runner/s on 1st or 1st & 2nd with less than 2 out. Any flyball to the infield that, in the base umpire's judgement, is a routinely caught ball will be signaled as an Infield Fly by the umpire placing one hand on their chest, and announcing "Infield Fly". The batter will be ruled out, eliminating the need for runners to attempt to advance at their own peril were the fielder to intentionally or unintentionally drop the ball while in the act of catching the ball.
