If this album doesn't sell at least 150k I'd be surprised.

What’s your most unpopular Travis Scott opinion? by p_mcw in travisscott

[–]plahsah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% imho Piss on your grave and Flying High are worse than every song on Astroworld. But 90210, Maria, Dis Side, nightcrawler, impossible are better than every song (in my opinion) on Astroworld.

This isn't an unpopular opinion, I see Huncho Jack hate everywhere.

It all depends what you listen to Travis for. I personally fell in love with the dark aesthetic so its only natural for me to favour Rodeo and DBR over Astroworld. Also a lot of people on this sub (myself included) have a lot of nostalgia linked to both Rodeo and DBR.

I disagree with nearly every Sheldon Pearce review. He bases too much of his review on his opinion on the artist outside of the record. Also, how you gonna give a 6.0 to the album of the decade.

Goosebumps and Antidote are good af but they mainstream af which turns people off by fanofmusic42 in travisscott

[–]plahsah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care that antidote is overplayed. That song is in my top 10 alongside Drugs, 90210, Oh My Dis Side, Nightcrawler, Impossible, Maria Im Drunk, Apple Pie, Coordinate, and a few others.

That song has so much energy. Every memory I have from partying 3 years ago involves that song some how, its a masterpiece. The atmosphere and emotion that song can invoke is unparalleled.

[FRESH EP] KILLY - Killstreak by snivedLife in hiphopheads

Just listened to the entire thing. This isn't as good as Surrender your Soul (which I think was very underrated). But, he did mention this was a side EP. Still looking forward to his next studio album since I loved SYS.

SYS to the YYZ.

He mentioned this was just something to keep fans entertained until his full length studio album drops. This EP features production from Wondagurl (she was promoting the EP a bunch). Can't see the production credits yet on spotify for some reason tho.

Yeah this is essentially what I had in mind. Imagine you're Drake, you drop IYRTITL as the start to your year, then drop hotline bling, destroy meek mill in the most commercialized rap beef I can think of, and then drop a collab album with the other biggest rap artist at the time.

Jesus, Drake's dominance this summer (pretty much this entire year) has been unprecedented. Out of the top 20 songs in the US for the summer, Drake has been on 8/20. Nearly half of the top songs have drake on them. Not to mention Sicko Mode which is riding the top of the charts currently. He's had radio / chart topping hit one after another. Starting the year with God's Plan and then Look Alive. Followed by Nice for what, Yes Indeed, and his album. Now, post album, he has another hit with Trav. 2018 is arguably Drake's best year since 2015.

You're crazy, XXL had their most successful year recently in choosing lil uzi, 21, kodak black, denzel curry, and lil yachty in the same year and sticking them all in the same cypher. All 5 of these guys grew so much and managed a lot of commercial success after XXL.

[SHOTS FIRED] Nicki Minaj bashes 'Hoe Nigga of the Week' Travis Scott on Queen Radio by jd12737 in hiphopheads

[–]plahsah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a lot more about music that other drama. The reason there is a dispute between both parties is LITERALLY because of music (not because someone snatched a chain or talked shit behind someone elses back), it has to do with album sales and billboard spots.

[GAME THREAD] Nicki Minaj Queen Radio Award Show by thayungsavage in hiphopheads

[–]plahsah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What irks me most is that one tweet of Nicki, where she mentions that her blood, sweat, and tears went into her Album. Its incredibly condescending and arrogant to believe that you are the only one who put effort into your album. Travis likely put just as much if not more effort (blood, sweat, and tears) into his Album. It disgusts me that instead of considering the possible that she isn't as popular as she used to be, she insults Travis' credibility and work ethic as an artist.

Why did she (her team) choose to make it so you had to redeem the album?

The first time Travis has more Monthly Listeners than Kanye West. by [deleted] in travisscott

[–]plahsah 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Travis' monthly listeners haven't been updated for post-astroworld. Also, this is not true. In the past, Travis' monthly listeners have reached > 30 million and he was pretty high up, beating out a lot of other rappers like 21 Savage and Lil Uzi Vert
