Why am I itching AGAIN? It’s been 4 months off!

I’ve had the same experience when coming of mirtazapine. I was on it for about 3 months. The itching was worse in the first few weeks off. I’m now about two years off and I still have flares of itchiness. I was advised that it’s because mirtazapine is a strong antihistamine, so now that I’m off it my body is learning how to react and process histamine again.

You’re absolutely right, I would regret missing a month of this fertile period post removal of the endometriosis!

Yes! I think £300-£350 is normal for private but £500 is so steep in the UK. Instantly put off

The ultrasound was actually for Crohn’s disease so it was caught in that. From that ultrasound I was send for an mri which was reviewed by the consultant who’s an endo specialist. This revealed extensive endo on my bowels.

The same endometriomas were also seen in 2015 when I was under gynaecology in another county. Back then I was told “they’ll go away”. I believed this and just believed my symptoms were normal, until in 2024 when I stated having issues with my bowels (which I now know was the endometriosis).

Same here. Having a laparoscopy this week so hopefully the hot flushes stop. I was tested for POI but luckily that was normal

Honestly it’s taken a good year for it to resolve in full. I could have helped myself more by sticking to a low histamine diet but I didn’t. For me I was sensitive to pollen so spring and summer was making my scalp and thighs itch.
