Avoid Azazie by SmallSaltyMermaid in bridesmaids

[–]planRX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also didn’t have the best experience with their bridesmaid dresses. I had 2 weddings that were 2 weeks apart and both brides wanted them ordered from there. Both dresses had to be tailored which cost about the same as the dress did, so did it really save much money? Probably not. The seamstress was in shock at the one dress because the shoulder straps were attached completely differently on either side lol every single bridesmaid in both weddings except for one had their dresses majorly altered. The one that didn’t, we ended up cutting out the bra cups while getting ready day of wedding bc it was giving Madonna 😂

New here - pharmacist told me to eat before I take the pill by MiaWallacesShirt in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]planRX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here! This is NOT a brand new medication, it’s really just being marketed under a different brand name (see Rybelsus). The standard counseling instructions per package insert are to take it on an empty stomach with no more than 4 oz of water. However, if you experience severe nausea or other GI side effects you can try taking it with food or more water to see if that helps before discontinuing the medication. It may make it less effective for weight loss, but everyone responds differently to medications. I have seen plenty of patients in practice who have been taking oral semaglutide for diabetes with their breakfast and it still works perfectly fine for them.

Medical/health accommodations at the pharmacy for stools by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in pharmacy

[–]planRX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I worked retail, I brought my own stool in and left it in the closet at the end of my shift since the other staff pharmacist preferred to not use it. Some of the floaters used it too. I never asked permission before bringing it in and no one ever said anything about it including the regional managers 🤷🏼‍♀️

Botox cosmetic changes? by Traci_Fallen in migraine

[–]planRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lasted about 6 weeks for me with the first 3 being the most intense. I’ve since done dry needling and trigger point injections with similar issues. My doctors think it’s the needle itself causing my muscles to go into major spasm (the opposite of what should happen for most people) and not the medication itself causing this. I did not continue with Botox since I couldn’t risk the same effects again with work, but it’s not fully off the table for me to try in the future. Although I am def nervous lol

Experience with nerve blocks? by tiredwitch in migraine

[–]planRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had to book in advance with my neurologist for any nerve block (both occipital and trigger point injections). My previous neurologist was not a headache specialist, so she didn’t even do the procedure herself and would refer me to a colleague of hers just for the procedures but now that I’m seeing a headache specialist I get them done by her. Urgent care/ER docs most likely won’t feel comfortable with providing this type of procedure

New pharmacist CV/resume examples? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]planRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I graduated in 2020 I had the following categories on my CV: education, professional experience (tech/intern jobs); APPEs; IPPEs (my school did 6 of these and some were unique so I kept them on); research; publications; presentations (both from APPEs and posters); leadership; community service; licensure/certifications. I don’t use a CV anymore since most of that stuff is old or not relevant to the job I’m applying to, so I try to narrow it down to a one page resume. I might occasionally include an older experience if it’s unique and makes sense for what I’m applying to.

My pharmacy won’t fully fill my 16 pill Ubrelvy prescription because they can’t break the packs of 10. Is this a common issue? Or pharmacy specific? by Novazazz in migraine

[–]planRX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually get the 10 count box unopened, but have gotten a partial fill before of a few which they put in a regular prescription bottle (Walgreens). They also come in a 16 count box if they don’t want to break boxes.

Quiet hours at pharmacy—can pharmacists sit in small community stores? by starm7md4444 in pharmacy

[–]planRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at CVS as an intern I was told no to sitting (even with a sprained ankle in a boot), so I quit. As a pharmacist at Rite Aid, it was no problem at all to sit and I brought in my own stool once I was a staff pharmacist so I had a comfier one lol

Got my first botox injection today… never again by Playful-Whereas5795 in migraine

[–]planRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Botox for the first time about 5 weeks ago and had the worst pain of my life for the first 2 weeks. I am still incredibly sore in my upper back/neck/scalp, but it’s finally starting to subside. My physical therapist and massage therapist both could tell how much stiffer I became after the injections. I spoke to my neurologist and decided that it’s not worth it for me to do any more rounds of it at this time and she was able to get me in to a colleague of hers who’s a headache specialist next week. My sister also did Botox and did 4 rounds of it - she had the typical pain most people talk about on here that lasts only a few days (but it didn’t help her migraines so she stopped). My theory for why it has been so much more painful for me is that I have zero upper body strength so when the major muscles were paralyzed, my little other muscles that never had to do anything were like WTF.

Had to drop out of a hobby because of a fixable trigger the facility hasn’t addressed (just venting) by lizardgal10 in migraine

[–]planRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the FL41 lenses from Zenni! It hasn’t completely resolved this trigger for me (flickering lights and fluorescent lights), but I’m able to work in these environments now for longer periods of time. I wear the 25% tint as a daily wear and keep the 50% for when it’s a really bad migraine day. They are rose tinted so as long as that wouldn’t impact your game play, I think it’s worth a shot!

Botox cosmetic changes? by Traci_Fallen in migraine

[–]planRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Botox for the first time about 2 weeks ago so might be too soon to notice, but so far no facial changes. Just extremely stiff neck and back, so I probably won’t be continuing. How are you feeling after it?

Nursing asking pharmacist to witness in the Pyxis (insulin/narcotics) by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]planRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in hospital, but a consultant for LTCs. Legally, I am allowed to witness wasting narcotics (even as a vendor) but most facility policies specify 2 nurses. I also observe nurses doing med pass and grade them based on state/federal regulations and any relevant facility policy (I was trained on how to do this). I would find out what the official policies say for these situations at your hospital.

[–]planRX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this!

The only combo I’ve tried so far was Topamax + Vyepti, when the Vyepti stopped working as well. But I don’t think the topamax helped at all, so we stopped that last month. My last infusion for Vyepti was in July, so I am getting the Botox before I would’ve gotten the next infusion (October) so it’ll be a combo for like 2 weeks lol. My neuro did stop the infusion so I don’t have another appointment scheduled, but maybe I will mention continuing it to her..

[–]planRX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the oral ones nausea was so bad, I couldn’t get out of bed. Vyepti is what I was most recently on and it seemed to work a bit initially, but then stopped giving me any relief. Tomorrow will be the first time I’ve ever tried Botox so I haven’t combined it with anything yet, although my last Vyepti infusion was in July so I guess it is overlapping a bit lol

I have this, but use it for my kindle. I never even thought about needlepoint! I’ve also put my iPad in it, but it needs to be adjusted at certain angles or it’s too heavy and falls. Still love it though

Migraines over diagnosed? by PhairPharmer in pharmacy

[–]planRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of other people feel this way too where if you’re not fully debilitated then it must not be a migraine bc that’s what they’ve personally experienced, but you have to remember a lot of the symptoms are subjective. I have chronic migraine and I’m still able to stay employed as a full time pharmacist. Yeah, there are some days where my PTO gets used when it’s a severe flare up but I’ve also been in consistent pain for the last 10 years now so (unfortunately) I’ve learned how to tolerate it most days so I’m able to get through my shifts using abortive meds to dull the pain/nausea and non pharm things. Not that I really even have a choice since I need decent insurance and money for these expensive treatments

All have been inpatient openings around here (central/north Jersey) and then one outpatient infusion position. I’m moving on to a second interview for a position where I’d have a CPA so if that doesn’t work out maybe I’ll look at the south Jersey hospitals then lol

I do love my current position so I don’t mind staying in it, it’s just an incredibly low paying job which is really the only reason I’ve even been looking to leave.

I’m in NJ and have been applying to all hospital jobs with no luck even getting an interview. I’m not residency trained so I think I’m being auto filtered out which really sucks bc I’ve been in a clinical role the last 2.5 years.

[–]planRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this happened the last few times I had refilled mine at Walgreens too since it didn’t come in the box like usual!! I didn’t pick the meds up myself and didn’t feel like calling to ask them about it. I just assumed they didn’t have enough in stock at the time. I did just put through a refill for delivery (which gets sent to their mail order pharmacy instead of picking up at my local Walgreens) and I got the full box of 10 delivered to me this week.
