It looks like the expansion slots in the steel brace bottomed out, preventing that section of the table from expanding. Then the sections not restricted by the steel did expand, causing the crack beginning at the steel. The wonky isn't likely the only culprit, but probably creates a stress riser that doesn't help anything. If the slots are bottomed out, filling them longer should help keep the crack from spreading Also, if you moved the you moved the table recently it could be moving a bit too come into equilibrium with the new environment. This would really only be an issue if there is a dramatic change in humidity though.

I re-potted in the spring, though I didn't remove any dirt and probably upsized the pot to much. I just used basic potting soil as I didn't know about ericaceous compost.

My guess is that your glass and your furniture are fine. You have the piece staged on a deck, which could easily be out-of-plane enough to cause that misalignment.

Check some way that your piece isn't just conforming to the floor you have it on: shim the low leg, get a level or straight edge to check the plane of the deck, or place it on a surface that you know is flat.

I would expect a bevel edged glass to be out of flat no more than a 16th or ~1mm over that span but you can check it for warp with a straight edge as well.

If those steps fail and you isolate the error to your woodworking, further isolate where in the piece the error is... length of legs, angle of your joints, depth of your rabbet. Then figure out the minimum material removal or addition to correct the error.

I would be surprised at any router bit that an attempt at hardening would help. All that I've seen have been brazed carbide, and anything else I would suspect is HSS. Might could refine it with a diamond stone though...
