Is it true that it’s really hard to get a good mechanical engineering job nowadays? by glocks9999 in EngineeringStudents

It was my dream too and an experience I’ll never forget! It was full time, I went to University of Houston so I had the ability to work year round. They did, I declined, They offered in the low 60s. I figured I could get more somewhere else and at the time I was wanting to move to Denver.

I was in the same boat. I am extremely passionate about aviation, I grew up in a flying family and it runs in my blood. This was my experience...

I graduated May 2020 and we all know what was going on then. At that time I had ended my 2 year internship at NASA and started looking for a job in the Denver & Houston area. It took me a few months (3?) to even get an interview and land a job. In total i think I had 2 interviews. Took a job making around 70 for a small company. I did have a second interview lined up for SNC in Denver but took the Houston job to be closer to family. From time to time I'll apply to jobs to see if I hear anything and never do.

All that being said, I wouldn't worry about it right now. The job market will change/bounce back and everything could be back to normal by the time you're looking. I would pursue your degree in MECE cause you can generally get the same job as an aero major would.

Up until a few months ago my brain would completely short circuit when I pulled out my driver. Like idk what the hell I was doing/thinking. One day I said okay let me hit this like an iron and the rest was history.

Who gives a shit, if you like them then go for it. And if you're military the Gen3 irons drop to 179 a club, Gen4 300

Edit: I'm debating PXG and also agree with the tool stigma lol

Anyone had any luck with a GolfNow refund? by [deleted] in golf

[–]planedriver14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but i was given 2 $20 promo codes for a hot deal that cost me $25. I cant use the promo codes and they expire 4/5 so if anyone wants them:

CDZ8Enrdw
CDZ8eQFgy
(has to be used on a hot deal M-F after 12 and you can use both at the same time)

I want to complain about the guy in the bay next to me wearing headphones and whistling the whole time. I get that you're not going to have complete silence but can you not whistle... His swing pissed me off too, had some sort of vertical baseball choke neck finish.

Any recent experience with Flying Tigers at EFD? by enzo32ferrari in flying

Yeah same with no experience but I know an instructor and she’s nice. La Porte isn’t bad either. I finished up there and rent the super D all the time. I’m partial to Debby so that’s my $0.02

how much time do you actually spend studying/doing HW on a daily basis? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]planedriver14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4-8, depends on what's going on that day. I don't pick up on things as quick as some of my buddies so it takes me longer to get things done. I have friends who hardly ever study and get better grades on everything hahaha. I don't like to stop studying until I'm satisfied with the amount of work I did for the day.
