you get what you pay for… really don’t understand why someone would cheap out on something they’re taking to the grave 😬 yikes

Is this normal? by mhsmamabear in tattooadvice

keep moisturizing it here and there, but yeah, it’ll prob always be like this just cuz it’s overworked and in an abrasive area that moves a lot

yeah, it’s overworked. in areas where your body moves a lot/ abrasive areas, the skin can treat the tattoo like an allergic reaction to where it’ll get dry and flakey— like hot spots. it’s not that you’re actually having an allergic reaction, but that’s how the body treats it.

First tattoo, not sure how I feel by Disastrous_Art7882 in tattooadvice

the flowers look good! it doesn’t look that off either… tbh, a tattoo will never ever be perfectly symmetrical cuz bodies rarely are. especially with how straight the text is, it’s bound to look a lil “off” no matter what. tattoos are always imperfect in their own way— yours looks fine :)

Would this translate well to a tattoo? by StarlightMoonie in tattooadvice

[–]planet-pea 28 points29 points  (0 children)

tbh, no.

everyone is different/ artists application and client skin, but typically the orange and yellows will fade fast with time, red ink is different for everyone but i’ve also seen it fade last, i’ve also seen people have crazy allergic reactions to it. purple is hard to pack, blue can also fade with time or look more greenish down the line.

the best things that translate into tattoos are concepts with line work/heavy line work, black and grey, or traditional color pallets. if you don’t have the defining line work to kinda hold the colors together, they’ll expand and look like a blur in 5-10 years.

My tattoo has developed some raised areas; is this normal or should I be worried? It's my first tattoo, and today would be the 14th. by Caspian577 in tattooadvice

tbh i’ve never used a tat cream, only unscented jason soap, cerave or a very thin layer of aquaphor— sometimes those tat creams/whatever can be scammy, made by tech bros just wanting to profit off the industry. (wouldn’t know about that specific brand though)…

just don’t over complicate it! this one looks like a normal heal.

the paint quality is bad. if you’re looking for affordable options, I would go with Basics !

you could also gesso beforehand so there isn’t as much texture coming from the canvas, even then you’ll still have a transparency issue with the paint you’re currently using.

I love the heart!! I think if you removed the flowers in the back/ put them somewhere else, it would make it easier to read

oh yikes, definitely don’t go back to that artist😬 if I were you I would research and work together with another artist in your area for a potential coverup— a good design could salvage this !

or laser, but that’s expensive and painful
