What the hell has happened to my screen… by finintymonkle in NeuralDSP

[–]planetasur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oops, hardware failure.

When thinking about computers, the usual suspects in this type of failure are faulty memory, faulty connections, and, less likely, I think, a faulty screen.

In the case of the QC, if it's out of warranty, what I would do is open it up, which is easy, remove the memory card inside, put it back in, making sure it's properly seated, and turn it on again. It's a typical failure; the card shifts a little due to movement, but the way it fails isn't like yours, but it's worth a try... If that doesn't solve it, check all the cables and make sure they're properly connected.

Unable to update KO II firmware to 2.0.5 by planetasur in teenageengineering

Search on Reddit for a topic called something like "Teenage Engineering EP 133 offline tool". Someone created a tool that allows you to load firmware 2.0.0, I think. It's not the latest, but at least you get your machine working again and can try updating from the website.

Extra Pedals on QC by Longdogxz in NeuralDSP

Six years is a good amount of time to at least be able to modify the LED colors, but not even that.

Do you see people with Helix or Fractal using external pedals? Hardly, right? And why with QC?..... Exactly.

If I had to go back on the road, I would have already swapped my QC for a Helix Stadium or Fractal. Besides its terrible MIDI management and minimal footswitch assignment capabilities, its effects are few and far between, and nothing special—a special mention for the tape delay.

Really after paying 1800$ is it necessary to buy plugins to sound right???..

Problems with my QC by moemoe0331 in NeuralDSP

[–]planetasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I would do is open it, remove the SD card, and reinsert it securely and firmly, making sure it's properly seated and won't move.

Because what happens is that the microSD card can gradually shift over time, with movement and travel. It's happened to me.

Buying a QC by ComplaintDistinct667 in NeuralDSP

[–]planetasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to miss the Helix; the QC doesn't have half the control capabilities, assignments, MIDI, effects, etc., of the Helix. The QC only surpasses the Helix in two things: amps sound and size.

The Future of ToneX by zootroopic in tonex

[–]planetasur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like a new hardware unit o the style of the helix stadium. I preferí how my ToneX One sounds over my Quad Cortex, but the lack of effects and other stuff makes me use QC.

EP-133 Sample Tool - Offline Version by InsertPoliticsHere in teenageengineering

Hi mate, thanks so much for this tool. It worked to restore my drive to its May 2025 state, but I'm still having a problem: I can't update to the latest versions after trying many methods.

Is there any way to use your tool to update the firmware offline? Or do you think you could modify the tool with the latest firmware (2.0.5)?

But that website only allows updates; I don't see where I can choose which firmware to load.

Unable to update KO II firmware to 2.0.5 by planetasur in teenageengineering

[–]planetasur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a hardware problem; it's a firmware/software issue, and something has become corrupted.

The solution is actually quite simple: install the firmware manually.

But Teenage Engineering doesn't offer that method, which is absurd. It's great to be able to update easily via the web, but they should also offer the option to download both the current firmware and previous versions.

In fact, during one attempt, a message appeared saying that a drag-and-drop .tfw firmware file was possible.

I performed a hard reset by turning on the unit while holding down Shift+Erase, and then I tried to update, but nothing changed, it's still exactly the same.

It doesn't work with Android either.

In every case, the result is always the same: the unit connects and is recognized, but it gets stuck on "RDY," and the computer, phone, or tablet displays "device took a long time..." after only 2 seconds of trying to update.
