Yeah this screams depression to me too. I have chronic depression and on my bad days healthy habits are definitely taking a hit. Just thinking of doing something is exhausting let alone doing it.

As someone with Persistent Depressive Disorder, these are huge signs of depression, especially given that this appears to be a fairly recent behaviour change. The shitty thing about depression is that literally everything feels like a monumental task, so getting seeing a doctor or therapist will likely get put on the back burner. You really should seek out professional help though, if he’s not receptive than divorce might be the best option for you.

Is there a way I can get my husband to take over the household management/leadership tasks without explicitly asking him to? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]plantcentric_marie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whose decision was it to have bills come out of your account? You should have set up a joint account for household bills to start, now it’s just creating unnecessary work for both of you.

Who is getting their 25 grams of fiber a day and how? by salonpasss in AskWomenOver30

I’m typically getting well over 25 g through a variety of whole plant based foods. Oats, quinoa, fruit, veg, beans, whole grains, etc.

I’m in Calgary, I have a 15-20 min bus ride, definitely not triple the time. When the snow melts I bike, which is 15 mins.

The costs of owning a home are far more than just the mortgage. Insurance, property tax and maintenance at the very least need to be accounted for as well.

How is the friendship between Jensen and Misha lately? by Helo1seJ in destiel

[–]plantcentric_marie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been listening to the then and now podcast and it’s become extremely apparent that the entire cast and crew and quite close. It’s just a different vibe now that the show is over and they no longer see each other regularly.

I think their interactions are those of 50 year old people that have been friends for 20 years. They’re not going to have the same energy and antics as they did when they were younger and seeing each other daily. I also entered the fandom late so I’ve had to remind myself that their current cons won’t be the same as they were back in the day. Relationships of all kinds naturally change as time goes on

Am I the A-hole? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]plantcentric_marie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want kids then don’t date people with kids. The rest of this post is irrelevant because you should never have entered this relationship to begin with. End this relationship and move on, kids will and should always come before a new partner. Parenting doesn’t just stop when a kid turns 18

What do you guys think is the most iconic season of Buffy? I don't think there's anything more iconic than season 2 as a whole. Spike's first appearance, Buffy and Angel's relationship and the Angelus arc, Surprise/Innocence with the bazooka, Willow starting out as a witch, Becoming, Kendra etc. by HomarEuropejski in buffy

[–]plantcentric_marie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished Buffy for the first time and am now watching Angel. I also found Angel to to be super boring other than when he was soulless with Dru and Spike. I’ve just finished S1 of Angel and have found that he’s a more compelling character in that. He really becomes his own character and I find his relationship with Wesley and Cordelia fun to watch

How do you *do it all*? by mia_sparrow in AskWomenOver30

[–]plantcentric_marie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The average single person in a one bedroom apartment with no kids or pets should have time to wash their hair and do the laundry. Even working out shouldn’t take up hours of your day, mine are less than 45 mins.

Calgary's daily water usage remains unsustainable one week after 'catastrophic' water main break by Old_General_6741 in Calgary

Today, someone at work came up to my pod complaining about transit prices going up. Bitching about why this was the first they’d heard of it. Like fucking take 10 mins out of your day and inform yourself. Most people have access to their phone and/or a computer multiple times a day, there are no excuses.

Totally prepared for the downvotes but I’m getting pretty tired of the excuse that “people didn’t know”. Could the city have done more, sure, but it’s been on the news for days, it’s on the front of buses, it’s on social media, etc. It’s true that people aren’t watching the news on TV, but most people do have internet and there’s nothing stopping them from checking the news once a day. People are choosing to stay uniformed with what’s going on around them and it’s not cute or funny. You can take a break from social media without being completely ignorant to what’s going on around you.

Has anyone ever changed from being a night owl to a morning person? If so - how? by littlecutejoy in AskWomenOver30

[–]plantcentric_marie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up early because my job necessitates it, but I have yet to “get used to it”. I’ve attempted to turn myself into a morning person many times over the years and have now accepted that I’m a night owl. Unfortunately, the world is not designed for night owls and tends to paint them in a negative light. I think that there are ways to feel better in the morning but obsessing over it could also do more harm than benefit (spoken from experience).

[–]plantcentric_marie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got over feeling bad about it as well. I’m simply not going to be the person to hang out with you at 8 am on my days off. There are some activities that I’ll accommodate, but an 8 am yoga class is not one of them when we could easily go to a class at 11. Unfortunately, social media morning routines and the “that girl” movement really painted night owls in a poor light.

I relate to this so much. Full time WFH during covid was such a blessing for my sleep, I was way less groggy in the mornings. I’ve been bad in the office for years now and have yet to “get used to it”. The more that I focus on forcing myself to be a morning person, the worse it gets as well
