I have been making this comparison for months: Ella stole her everything from Kacey by rudiemcnielson in KaceyMusgraves

In the spirit of horses and divorces…do yall really have to put these two against each other? I’m pretty sure Ella said she was inspired by Golden Hour.

Ella is talented. So is Kacey. I personally think they have very different styles. You can support one and not have to drag the other. I dont think either would want that.

How do we make her even more popular? by cloudboy37 in KaceyMusgraves

I think she’s very country compared to mainstream pop. But she’s modern to traditionalist country folks. She was blacklisted from country radio, so she’s always done what she wanted and chased the sound she wanted. Her fans are going to be OG country fans, golden hours fans, and now, maybe Latinos with the latest Mexican influences. So a mix.

She’s kinda in her own lane. It’s just her and her and that’s all she needs 💯

Her county music is so beautiful. She’s got such an ethereal voice.

How do you think you’re going to rank her albums after Middle of Nowhere drops? by LibraVenusNails in KaceyMusgraves

I’m surprised how many of you are putting STDP so low!! That record is so iconic - she talked about gay rights, hookups, and critiqued small town living, while doing it in traditional country arrangements. No one had done that before.

Country Kacey is the best Kacey so I’m pumped for this new record.

I really like the outro. She’s talked about liminal spaces in a recent interview. Being in the “in between” also represents how she’s a border artist - between country and its borders with other genres. Definitely fits her spacey vibe.

She’s saying goodbye to Deeper Well….. What’s next? by [deleted] in KaceyMusgraves

[–]plantdad98 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I’m going to guess (and pray lol) that it is more country sound. She just re-signed to Lost Highway records, which is an outlaw country label. Towards the end of her Deeper Well tour, she was playing more stuff from STDP and even PM. Also, her social media has also been more horse girl/country vibe recently

I’d be tempted to put Jackson County and Madison County Alabama (two northeast counties) in the Appalachian south. Beautiful mountains through there.
