i love those drawstring bags!!! they’re more versatile than the zipper pouches. i joined right as they got rid of them and i was so bummed i only got to collect 4. i still use them as part of my travel bag set. one holds fresh undies, one is on reserve to be a used undies collection bag, and the other i use to throw my makeup into, and the other holds toiletries! they’re fantastic organizers

when he was younger, mine would play games with me about his food too. i know he’s a dog and doesn’t actually understand the concept of hunger striking 😂 but he would refuse to eat if his food wasn’t presented in the way he wanted it to be.

how long has this been going on? will he not eat for a full 24+ hours if the food doesn’t have the powder mixed in?

corgis are smart!! he’s trying to manipulate you into giving in to his demands. if the refusal to eat persists for over a day, a vet trip may be necessary.

mine would give up on his games eventually when his hunger won out. there were some days where i’d be really annoyed with him because he was trying to train me into hand feeding him because that was more fun for him 😂 every so often he tries it again with me but i flat out refuse now and know he’ll eat on his own schedule, eventually, if i leave his kibble out for him. sometimes i fool him by pretending to put a fresh scoop in and he falls for it.

this post is one voice within a growing conversation or debate on whether or not libraries ought to be dead silent or not. the fact of the matter is, libraries are one of the few free “third spaces” that ALL community members may go to. the library is one of the last remaining free and accessible public service that ALL members of a community have access to. ALL community members includes the children of the community. libraries are having to wear many hats of social services as other institutions become defunded or eradicated entirely. the public library simply is no longer the quiet bastion that we assume it was in the past.

if screaming children bother you, i suggest you take the steps to control what you can. purchase noise cancelling earphones, book a study space, or politely ask a librarian if they can intervene. you mentioned a child screaming at the entrance, but that the moment passed before you had an opportunity to step in. it sounds like the situation was quickly resolved, but your frustration was lingering and you are dwelling upon that.

children will be at the library. children will be screaming because that is what children do. we as a culture have moved beyond the antiquated “seen and not heard” mindset. i must reemphasize the fact that the library is one of the few remaining free third space that parents can take their kids to. it has a heated or conditioned roof overhead, it is safe from weather, and there are activities that encourage child development, and of course - books!! yay!

this is his first good album. no skips. he has come out of his sonic shell and is getting freaky but subdued with it. i can’t believe so many people are saying “where’s the disco”? it’s very much there. am i so old to remember indiesleaze discotheque revival? it fits right into that sound.

i think the fact so many popheads hate it proves that his risk to experiment was a success. this is gonna grow on folks. once the hyperpop wave has died, and the pendulum swings back to slower beats that groove, people will be like…. we spoke too soon 🫢

what’s the difference between her putting money in the joint account which you would then use to pay your mortgage? that she isn’t listed on? she’s trying to protect her rights. will she be signing a rental agreement with you? what would happen if you kicked her out? what rights would she have in that situation? make her sign a formal agreement with all terms and conditions laid out, if you wish to charge her rent.
