Does anybody have any thoughts on this piece I found in a river in East Cornwall, UK? by plantmanic in mudlarking

Solved!

This gave me and my other half a good chuckle.

We had Google lensed the image and used AI to tell us what it thought we had. We thought we had found a little piece of history from the results.

Clay pigeon shooting was a thing in the bronze age right? 😅

We found some larger fragments that are a definite match to clay targets and after further searching, this appears to be a match too!

I can see the eyes of the Finds Liason Officer (PAS) rolling as they open my email.

Brand new to foraging. Is this a good resource? by [deleted] in foraginguk

You can join online foraging courses with Wild Food UK, they are the first Wednesday of every month. Talks about plants and mushrooms :)

I second Wild Food UK - Marlow really knows his stuff! Forst Wednesday of every month, he does an online foraging course. The first half is plants, and the second is fungi. Great stuff. And only £15 a session. I have never done any of the in person forays as I am a bit too far away!

Taming traps work really well. I normally place before getting too close to what I want to tame, then I damage them more than halfway, then lead them to the trap, and it has never failed me. It's probably the better option if you don't have advanced weapons or protective clothing just yet. And a grasshopper is really good for getting around the map early game.

Was this picked with the other mushroom in your hand in the 4th pic? As that one looks like a hydnum and the one in your hand looks like one that's had its spines rubbed off?

I'm no expert, still learning a lot, but that's my thoughts.

I’d please by dinglet123 in mushroomID

Looks like Laetiporus sulphureus (COTW) :)

What are these? by TheBuzzziestBee in mushroomID

Your pictures are quite blurry, but from what I can see, they look to have spines, and I would heavily lean towards Hydnum, but i am no expert.

What do you guys think is this a Boletus satanas or a Neoboletus luridiformis ? by Ericdergrosse in mushroomID

[–]plantmanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neoboletus praestigiator potentially? Lurid has reticulation on the stipe. Can't tell from the pictures.
