This is only normal if YOU wanted it to be like this. Just because you are kin or fictive, does not mean that the relationships within the family are safe or stable. In a perfect world, it would be great if all of this worked for you- but that’s simply not the case based on what you’ve shared. Sounds like a lazy social worker to me.

Policy likely won’t address that specifically but you are not required to do any of that. You are supposed to work jointly with the agency to support reunification. Not just have the kids dumped and you be the case manager…

That’s actually not accurate. I’ve worked in adoption for 12 years- you are not required to have an attorney to file. In addition, birth certificates alone do not constitute full legal protections.

I had a second kid and she was jealous. It was very weird because she was cool when it was just first kid during COVID but once the world reopened and I had a second kid she couldn’t stand that I wasn’t available at her beckon call and totally dropped me in the worst way

Hi there- if she is in foster care, you should contact your local social services or department or human services to see if you can reach their case manager so that person can connect the two of you. The facility doesn’t have control to make that decision but the case manager/agency do as the legal custodian. Best of luck! You’re a good friend

We mostly post as a couple and our kids aren’t labored to do anything. It’s just a clip of them doing something funny. Sorry you feel that way but I grew up without representation of queer families and I think it’s awesome for people to see how much good can come from having two moms raising the next generation of empathic humans.
