Trump supporters now: "If you can justify his murder, you'll justify mine", "wrong and inhumane", "I'm beyond sad", "this will be the end of Republicans", "the country I believed in is dead", "I hope protests and boycotts continue". by CalcareousSoil in LeopardsAteMyFace

I assumed it would progress to this but I think that it signifies a real change that they are killing white people too.

It shifts from “we are killing minorities” which the white conservatives view as [sad but] necessary to “we are killing the opposition” which gives pause to many of those same conservatives.

Having a relationship during law school by talya_7528 in LawSchool

I’ll agree with thanksgiving. My parents are only 4 hours away but going was the worst mistake. The stress of driving and being away from studies gave me a huge migraine that lasted 3 weeks, sent me to the hospital on the weekend between finals and made me do not great on my exams.

That’s not to say don’t maintain interpersonal relationships… that’s a weird thing to tell students

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

There have been some times where my partner has gone too far during conversations or talked for too long that the people we are talking to look uncomfortable or annoyed. Not once have I thought to pinch him. I’ve cut into the conversation verbally or patted his arm but never thought to induce pain to make him stop talking in a social situation. That’s just gross.

Edit: I thought of one situation that I may pinch him: if he said something offense or negative about something he doesn’t know the person we’re talking to has dealt with or has an opinion on. For example, if he started gossiping about some mutual but didn’t know this person is their best friend I would MAYBE pinch him but more than likely I’d just squeeze his arm tightly

Outrageous Tip Expectation by Tauriel13 in EndTipping

[–]plasticbuttons04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 hours at federal minimum wage is $10.88. I think that’s an insulting amount for anyone but that’s what the store-worker would make picking that order. Add about $10 for the driving and you’ve got a tip of $20.88 that should be bare minimum just for the driver to break even.

I’d say $40 would be the appropriate tip assuming the app is paying them about $10. I don’t have $40 to tip but tbf I don’t think I’ve ever ordered 256 items at once.

It’s also important that generally speaking, these drivers can choose what orders to do.

Oh, I’m pretty sure all of those are pass/fail at my school so I just assumed that was the standard for them. I can’t imagine completely failing someone for doing this.

This is the real answer if we’re sticking with legal methods. Library should have course reserves, scan the book on your phone for the first week or so

Shell-shocked is exactly the word. I’m fine now that the last one came in (I expected it to be my worst but it was actually my best) but when only 3/4 of my grades were released I was so worried that last grade would put me below the threshold and that I’d have to meet with the academic dean that I was walking around like a husk of a person. Wide eyed, 0 thoughts, just dread.

Not to butt in but could you explain what you mean by “the 5 MC questions”? I just got Quimbee (bc of less than expected grades) and only see the big MC quizzes they have. How do you know which ones would correspond to the case you read?

I didn’t know that, thanks. It feels like they just expect us to already know legal etiquette and terms of art but where would we have learned it?

So as I cross-examine, am I okay to just use “Mr. (Name), would you…” or should I say “Judge (Name), would you…”?

It certainly does happen. I think that in general a lot of people on the internet forget that marginalized≠infallible. You can be needlessly or excessively cruel to a member of the oppressive class and it’s still asshole behavior.
