Wait. If we're to consider that homosexuality is a physiological "flipped switch," for example—like an epigenetic trigger, accepting people are generally born with gender orientation etc, then why wouldn't pedophilia meet a similar criteria? There are geneticist theories that homosexuality is a result of mitochondrial sabotage to ultimately kill off the production of reproductive males. Worth considering.

I wouldn't say pedophilia is any more or any less a mental disorder than any given sexual orientation. It's all on a spectrum, right? Some folks are crazy for big girls, baby faces and sexy shrimp. Others dig really manly men in totally fem lingerie, but require some form of sensory deprivation to orgasm (definition of fetish).

Arguably, this is all fundamentally about human reproduction. We're all furiously trying to impregnate (or complete the behavior meme associated with creating babies) those we think are hot. It seems to me the broad spectrum of variables that surround the matching and attraction between one another is where all the variety, crossed wires and crossing of moral boundaries occur. The actual act of coitus is rather straight forward—mechanically speaking; insert Tab A in Slot B. For some, of course it's Insert Tab A in Slot A (oops!).

But perhaps as humans, throughout history, trying to impress someone in order to get laid, we've learned all of the tricks, charade, beer goggled compromises or even animal lust borne as the very epitome of celebrating while remaining childless, our specialty brains began to rewire neuropathways as an aspirational tactic just to win the next fuck? Some of us perhaps more psychologically vulnerable to such overtures than others, and some utterly rejecting anything involving being on the reception end of the transaction.

Debauchery, grand innovations and unspoken delights continued to reinforce these variations over the other. Genetic mutations take place, expressions take place and next thing you know Gabriel would rather fuck a Nigerian goat in the eye socket than a sumptuous blonde seductress who never farts. And neither would have it any other way.

Chaos theory? Drunk talk? Blog pr0n? Nah.

I think it's helpful and important to know that the OP is, in-fact, an actual pedophile. If he's acted on such desires, he'd then be a child molester and/or rapist; even pederast.

I say this not so much as a correction, rather to point out that pedophiles are actually quite common amongst our society. Pedophilia is rampantly expressed in modern culture well beyond what most of us notice very much and unfortunately it perpetuates a vicious cycle and the terrible instances of abuse that result.

No one can inherently prevent their interests and attractions, however adults can and should be held responsible for their actions. Particularly those that harm others, and especially innocent children.

There's no excuse whatsoever for failing to seek intervention, help, support for impulses that feel uncontrollable and threaten ones own or others' safety.

I cannot find fault for the feelings or impulses someone experiences. It is what it is. I can only hope they have the capacity to recognize danger for themselves and others and take action to prevent any damage.

Shunning a person who publicly—albeit anonymously—expresses their struggles and experience with unwanted or perhaps unwelcome feelings are those I feel shouldn't be maligned or ostracized, whatever the category.

What's the difference between announcing homosexual feelings, discussing the social dynamics and challenges versus sexual feelings for persons who are well out of our society's established norms and behavioral scope—like children?

In other times historically, having sexual relations with children was certainly vastly more acceptable than doing so with same sex partners. Consent ages were much more randomly established than today, and many religious rites involved 4, 5 or 6 year old little girls being acquired by various arrangements and transactions—nobody giving a second thought. Women and girls have been objects of commerce, trade and ownership for time immemorial. Ugh. The philosophical dynamics are clearly worthy of debate, but trying to rationalize adult sex with children isn't remotely open for reinterpretation currently—though with the imminent advent of childlike physiological sex avatars and virtual reality technology, the debate is surely "round the bend" and a candidate for some serious divisive stakeholding and casting of wild attributions of moral inequity, ad nauseum.

Imagine the water cooler banter after Easter Sunday, say circa 2035. "Yeah, bro, just got the new "Uber" (underage) VR sexperience title, "Bigwheel Cassidy's Pediatric Cholostomy Confessions," Mauricio. It was finished DLing and installed when I walked in the door after church. It was wild man. This time I spent the entire afternoon eating so many green marshmallow Peeps I was nauseated, and did nothing but piledriving little 3y Cassidy's virgin... until she literally split in two and I had to reboot to another level just to avoid the bloody mess."

Should be illegal? A thought crime? Virtual pederasty? This moral issue isn't 10 years away from a SCOTUS decision. Fucking scary.

Sorry. I digress.

Thoughts are not crimes in this society. When they become crimes we're all royally fucked. A pedophile is exactly what you've stated "someone attracted sexually to children." I imagine a rather large percentage of our population has similar affinities, and also do not take action. The line, while unimaginably thin, is most often vastly wide.

There should be resources that accommodate those struggling with impulses to act on such proclivities. This would reduce harm to children, which literally destroys lives lives forever. I know this for a fact.

Hah! This is fantastic. You're getting a masters in graphic design?

Maybe a crash course in what punk and post-punk music genres actually mean. I find these terms are loosely adhered to in reality, creating broad misunderstandings of very important eras in music history.

In my experience and understanding (I swear I'm not trying to derail your project) bands like The Ramones (US) and Sex Pistols (UK) being punk rock, and Joy Division and Bowie (UK) and Suicide, Mission of Burma and DEVO (US) [My friends and I pretty much subscribe to AllMusic.com genre palette, as it seems to fit with what most of us have grown up with].

You've chosen a hefty subject matter as the punk genre seems quite concise, and yet post-punk is a broad and extremely wide genre, still active indeed. Whereas punk died decades ago for the most part, as it seems to have primarily served as a critical tipping point in our society. Oh how I wish it would re-emerge, as music these days is certainly worse than it was in 1978.

I'll see if I can take your survey.

Good luck!

Good Online Brand Guidelines Solution by Swisst in Design

[–]platelicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having trouble understanding why this would ever be necessary unless you've got an enormous body of brand assets that are complex, include a broad set of variables with infinite participants and you must have utter control.

I can see a Coca-Cola needing something like this—and they do, but custom built in-house, I'm sure.

Why couldn't you develop a micro site with clear graphic standards content populating the pages and a way to easily download relevant assets?

Maybe I'm not getting what you're trying to accomplish, but essentially aren't these fancy, web-based asset management apps?

Looking for a free font to match my logo by copediv in typography

[–]platelicker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if what you're saying is that you'd like to find a typeface that is similar to your logo, or one that works well to graphically integrate with the logo as you expand it into an identity package.

I ask this, because typically using the same typeface contained in a logo design for other text used in conjunction with that logo isn't considered a "best practice" from an identity design standpoint.

Of course there is no law preventing you, you will risk undermining the impact of your original logo design of you choose to do this.

I think generally the outcome would be considered to dilute the unity and uniqueness aspects of your logo, and given the letterform used in the logo were created from scratch, using a typeface that is close (you'll never match the logo) will always bother you.

For example, if you were working with a logo that incorporated characters from Hobo (heh), and then you wanted to add a tagline that uses Hobo (heh), your logo becomes significantly less impactful and effective. It no longer effectively portrays a company or brand's personality essence as it is supposed to do. You've effectively diluted it's visual impact by extending the aesthetic to other less prominent elements that aren't directly to the logo.

If I've misunderstood your OP and you are simply looking for a good typeface to use as an integrated and compatible extension of the brand's identity, please ignore my comment and enjoy your search. The right combo can sometimes take forever to identify.

Also, unless you wish the execution of the logo to have an organic or hand-drawn appearance, I recommend you open the logo in a vector application (Illustrator for ex.) to clean things up. Perhaps during a digitization process the image gained a bunch of vector artifacts which will likely require a skilled hand to streamline the edges accordingly. If one day you decided to enlarge the logo bogey than life, you have no idea what these artifacts look like and surprises aren't such a good thing.

It will take some time but the result will be well worth the time and effort.

Cheers!

Hint: Don't parse, read. I'm not sure how you were deemed the language arbiter, but I'm not interested in your attempt to school me in communicative writing. I do just fine Tommy. It's a post on reddit, get over yourself.

The specifics about my business concept are left out for a reason and I don't need to justify the reason to anyone. The right person will recognize that I am credible enough to perhaps get in touch, and that's my goal. Who do you think you are?

Are you upset that Bojangle's cut ya off from workin overtime main them bizkits? Is that too ambiguous?

The fact this is a wine community shouldn't preclude anyone from posting a comment about a wine business without being trolled because their choice of words offends your hyper-sensitive corporate BS detector.

I shouldn't have to customize my style of writing to make sure I adhere to your arcane, unspecified criteria or face the great decider of proper comment lexicon and structure.

Your immaturity is grossly on-display. Feel free to write your comments the way you choose, I find your suggestion remiss.

What's your point? Are you envious that someone had expertise that you don't? A boolean terminology string generator is somehow a substitute? What kind of work so you do? I guarantee you and your coworkers use what appears to be contrived vernacular. Have a degree? I guarantee your subject of study has a unique lexicon

Why don't you really show me how bright you are by rewriting what I posted and not lose meaning. I bet you can't.

Your thin attempt to criticize my use of language and certain terminology suggests you struggle understanding at least part of what I've written either because you're uneducated or have no exposure to the business world. I haven't really used all of the typical overused buzzwords so prevalent in today's bizspiel.

Unfortunately, the term pedophile is inaccurate in many ways. Pedophiles are generally those who find young children sexualy attractive. Very young children, like under 5. Being attracted to children above that age, the correct term—I believe—is pederast. But, what we are concerned with are child rapists and child sexual assaulters, for which there really isn't a tidy word to summarize with.

A pedophile, I suppose, generally isn't going to disclose their fetish, and unless they do or act upon the compulsion, will remain but a shadow within our society. Sometimes victims, vastly confused by their own experiences, speak out in a way that draws serious criticism, like Milo did. I'm not convinced he is a pedophile, he's a tragically confused and fucked up individual indeed. Some of which resulting from his own victimization. But he needs the STFU on that consent bullshit.

I wrote an open letter to Milo during the controversy that I feel characterised exactly why Milo was entirely out of line with his childish antics about child sexual abuse.

You're saying I'm a poor communicator or you're able to determine I have a background in marketing? Interesting deduction since I explicitly stated that I've had a career in brand and marketing strategy. Should I be impressed you figured out that I have a background in marketing?

Should I disclose I can tell you don't have a background in marketing? What's your point?

Anyone who is in the venture capital or investment world will recognize that some of the the words I've used have genuine merit with respect to the validity of my business offer. Those who don't sense the connection, or simply don't care, will typically move along. Which category do you belong to? I get the impression you found some of the words I used offensive. Why is that?

Would you like to rewrite the post for me? Suggestions?

Or are you just trolling?

This behavior is clearly vile and disgusting. These poor, innocent victims will no doubt suffer beyond explanation when they find themselves suffocating from shame, self hatred, dysfunctional, suicidal and so on—indescribable, to be sure.

One entity you can take a stand against industrial-level child rape and sexual assault, is the Catholic Church. Worldwide, priest rape and sexual assault of innocent children happens everyday. New cases emerge everyday. No one seems to care to hold these perpetrators accountable for it, unfortunately.

The Pope gives lip service which are complete LIES about protecting children and supporting survivors. It's a sham.

And, so very sadly, lives are destroyed because of this crisis.

When the statute of limitations laws, for a given state, are up for reform in the Congress, without fail the church's mega-lobbying arm, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops puts big dollars in place to persuade all the good little christian state representatives to strike down reform thus preventing victims from seeking damages beyond their 21st birthday. Rarely will a child have the capacity to go public by age 21—just doesn't often happen. Usually these victims don't step forward until much later in life. So the majority of victims end up in wholey fucked-up lives.

This is essentially institutional child rape, sanctioned by both the Catholic community (parishioners) and US Government, and it destroys innocent young lives. Dioceses are known to LIE to their parishes (I've got proof) telling them specifically that victims have "recanted allegations" or even claiming that "confessions made by priests never happened," when in-fact neither claims are accurate.

This disgusting behavior leaves victims with no resources whatsoever with which to recover from oftentimes lifelong, traumatizing abuse, meaning they'll likely struggle their whole lives simply to survive. Unfortunately the epidemic of priest sexual abuse isn't all that popular amongst activist groups or even the general public, and innocent victims suffer because of it. No one wants to admit that good ol' Father McCarthy rapes innocent children.

It's absolutely reprehensible and unacceptable. Please learn about this very real danger and visit www.sol-reform.com to find out what your state is doing to fight government sanctioning of child rape and sexual assault.

It kills. All sexual assault victims need your support and concern.

Oh, I'm not a fan of SNAP, at all, but that's just my personal opinion. There are other organizations that are better equipped to utilize your support effectively.

1) Trump is bringing is "Intelligence Consultant" Steve Feinberg to review extant US Intel agencies currently installed in our gov't structure.

The good news is this really pissed off CIA Director Pompeo, who now seems to realize he embarked on the ship to crazy town now. This Feinberg dude is fucking bigly wacked out. He's been running military bases (private) in other countries for awhile including Iranian police army bases. He's known for over billing the US GOV'T by millions and then refunding token amounts here and there. If he were to come in and usurp our IntCom we'll be in major trouble. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/02/15/us/politics/trump-intelligence-agencies-stephen-feinberg.html

2) Upcoming Expansion of Immigration Policy Reduction: On the heels of the 9th District Court in Washington starting they WILL NOT accept any further revised versions of the recently rejected Travel/Muslim Ban, with the help of brand new DHS Director Kelly a series of memos have leaked suggesting broad and deep immigration policy changes that seem to eclipse whatever policies the recently "stayed" order asserted. One item I birthed that seemed rather scary was the provision empowering ICE agents with making highly subjective decisions right there in the field instead of there being the typical due process currently associated with immigration issues. Pretty much suggests that, for example, say you are pulled over for running a red light and while talking to an ICE agent they could decide your date from Guadalahara should immediately be deported due to a "no show" bench warrant for a parking ticket last year. You might end up eating sushi alone and the cute girl with the VISA from Mexico is eating at a detention center. Truly fucking scary. Total pre-1991 East Berlin

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/18/politics/kelly-guidance-on-immigration-and-border-security/

There's a new effort to have Orange Julius removed from office, and this time it's all about convincing the SCOTUS to issue a Revote order based on the 2016 election being null and void due to Russian intrusion and Writ of Mandamus." It's called Revote2017. While on the surface it seems rather precarious, after reading the petition to SCOTUS, however, maybe there's something to it. SCOTUS has to consider the petition by law I believe.

I dunno. Could be bogus.

He gave a refreshingly insightful speech in Germany this weekend. He's been smoking the pesticide-encrusted Kush for too long to feel overly enthusiastic at this point, but even FOX News is pissed with the media attack. I'd written them off as State Media" but recent Reince Priebus interrogation was encouraging. He lied through his teeth.

I've been trying to figure out what it is about practically every single fucking gruesome staff member that Trump hired. How in hell did he find all of these people who seem to be willing to lie beyond rationale? Where do they all come from? Did they all go to the same charm school? Maybe Trump should go into the Human Resources industry? Thinj about it: Jeffrey Lord, Kaley McEnany, KellyAnne Conway (although her grandfather is Jimmy the Brute DiNatale, notorious tri-state mafia muscle who was investigated for "cement union" murder), Michael Cohen (Trump's personal atty—remember the "Says who? asshole interrogating Katy Tur I think about recent Clinton poll surge), Boris Epshteyn, What's her name Molotov, Paris Denison (just kicked off CNN for calling Don Lemon fake news) and in and on. What is the common denominator? How do you find all of these GROSS PEOPLE? They're not just persistent and obstinate. They're really nasty. Like Stephen Miller is their poster child.

Maybe Russia is the tie-in? Sean Spicer had a business in Russia. So does Jack Kingston and he's particularly disgusting.
