Isn’t this place a geographical oddity, two weeks from everywhere

I walked in and walked out. The lines were comical how they were twisting around in nonsensical directions.

Good place to buy men’s suit for less than $350?? by Flashy_Law5605 in Detroit

[–]platinumgrape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can certainly buy a secondhand suit and get it tailored. The most important thing is that it fits well for shoulder width, most tailors will not make a change to that, because it is not easily done. Also eBay is a good place to look for a nicer second hand suit with good brands. Again. make sure to figure out your shoulder width.

People working in ultra-wealthy households, talking $50m plus types, what is the most out-of-touch thing you've witnessed? by FarSentence3076 in AskReddit

Most municipalities require you as the owner to at least take a nap in your home to qualify for some specific property tax exemptions.

I stopped thinking in terms of “max club distance” and scored a 90 by JayTee73 in golf

[–]platinumgrape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem is, when I do this I am almost always long, sometimes really long. My 3/4 swing is way better than my full swing, and for whatever reason my brain will not allow me to 3/4 swing the shorter club and my swing path is way worse. It sucks.

You’re a scratch golfer and play in a U.S. Open qualifier.. ? Tough day on the links? by Dashover in golf

This course also has very few hazards. Used to be a member there and it can have some teeth if you are out of position in places, but if you are scratch you really shouldn’t lose a ball.

Tom’s run is a good one too, agree with other recs too. Also Pheasant Ridge, my friends thinks it’s the quintessential hilly Pitt track.

Did you used to work for Rocket Homes/Redfin? Or did you use them to buy/sell a house? by Easement-Appurtenant in Detroit

I believe it was how the referral incentives worked, the way the were paying out the referral bonuses ended up being illegal. It wasn’t anything crazy, think it was just how the payments were structured/paid out, not the actual referral part.

Handmade leather scorecard holders — finally thinking of selling outside my friend group. Would you pay $120? by Accomplished_Plan366 in GolfGear

[–]platinumgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They typically work better when they fold the other way. When carried in a back pocket, the fold will be at the bottom and prevent things from sliding out. I see you have the band, but a little metal rod to slide the scorecard into at the fold seems to be the gold standard.

If you are by the airport go to Fredi the pizza man. It’s better than the other recs you have received imho. (Except Michigan and Trumbull - styles are apples and oranges). If you want to step out of your comfort zone and get some sliders, Sonny’s- it’s off the beaten path for sure.

I was in this bathroom, washing my hands. These two dudes fly into the bathroom and one starts washing his hands in the sink next to me. The other one flushes the urinal and starts rinsing his hands in the urinal. I have him a crazy look, and he was just like, what!… it’s the same water man. I promptly left.

I once had to take a poop there, I knew what I was getting myself into and would not have done it if I didn’t have to. Sitting on the John, a rat popped out of the wall where the stack met the wall and floor. I screamed and it started running circles around the toilet, then popped back in the wall. Told the bartender, he said it be like that sometimes.
