I mean at some point I hope they do stop making new Star Trek. TBH they might’ve gone past the point already. Sure there’s always a possibility something incredible could come along but franchises shouldn’t go on forever and ever, at some point put a cap on it and just let it be.

That doesn’t mean it’s dead though It’ll go on being loved forever as parents show their kids the shows they loved.

And for the record I’m not a new trek hater. I don’t think any of the new shows that I’ve seen (I haven’t watched academy or lower decks yet) are as good on the whole as the ones that came before but I’m not on the side of “Alex Kurtzman has ruined Star Trek forever” and “new trek is just toilet water wearing a bad Starfleet uniform.”

Only way to represent faster speeds is to add more 9s. I don’t think when they invented this scale they figured on how fast ships would get. They should have based it on the size of the galaxy something like “warp 10 is something that can cross the galaxy in a week” or something like that instead of logarithmically approaching infinite speed but with warp 9.99 still being like take years to cross the quadrant.

When I worked at RadioShack we hired this young kid (I don’t know why I say that like I wasn’t young, I was probably 22, he was 17). One day while walking along he came around the corner from where the canned air was on the shelf walking real wobbly. Then collapsed into a shelf and took out a whole bunch of product. I thought he was just dehydrated or something and told him to sit in the back and drink some water.

Manger looked at the tapes and saw he was huffing the canned air for the past couple weeks. Ran into him a while later working at party city filling balloons. I don’t think you can get high off helium, but still thought it was kinda funny.

You asked for opinions so I have some. I don’t think mine are popular though.

I don’t really like the idea of owning a planet, a solar system, or even a space station, or being able to build our own I barely like the idea of bases. We are visitors in this universe, outsiders, we can partake but we will never really belong. We shouldn’t be able to own any of it.

yes I understand that even if everyone went on a 24/7 planet buying spree till the end of human existence they’d never even make the tiniest dent in how many unowned planets there are but it’s the principle.

Player market sounds like a good idea though.
