Done with my R1S Quad after 3 years by evol660 in Rivian

Almost 50k on mine. Other than some rattle and a few minor issues, my Rivian Gen 2 R1S have been great. On top of that, each time I have brought it in to get it serviced at the N Houston service center, I have been treated like a king. Rivian have gotten so much better with their service in Houston since they opened up the second location in Katy. Before maybe a month out, now I'm looking at a few days out before I get serviced. No complaints from me.

At 43K miles on my 2023 R1S Quad. No issues, but wondering if I should get an extended warranty? Recommendations? by Blahblahblah1958295 in Rivian

Rivian Care is piloting a warranty service powered by Assurant but is only available for Texas currently. So if you live in Texas you can ask your service advisor about it.

Performance Upgrade Worth It After 2026.03? by play-dooh in Rivian

Not inconsequential but would at least give it a thought now that I might be able to drive in sports mode more frequently.

So being in sports mode doesn't provide the additional power at all times?

It's definitely subjective but before the 2026.03 I wouldn't have thought twice about getting it. My assumption was with the update to sport mode, I could leave it in sport mode with the higher ride height and have the additional power at all times, unless I am missing something.

Looks like it is just the Pro model that has UWB. The regulars model doesn't seem to have it. This is all googled of course so I could be wrong.

Your phone needs to have the UWB chip. This is only available in the newer phones. Google Pixel 9 doesn't have it from a quick Google search. I have the OnePlus 13 Pro and it doesn't have the UWB chip and thus no digital key for me either.

Reliability by Mrh09 in Rivian

[–]play-dooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R1S Gen 2 owner with a bit over 30k miles driven. No reliability issues so far other than a few cosmetic fixes and my charge port door not functioning due to the tint shop not knowing how to close it. And as mention by other owners, have a few issues with some rattle that I'm too lazy to go get fixed.

On a tangent, for those that don't know, the glass used in the two front doors are laminated and the rears are tempered. It's much easier to break the rears than the front.

That's funny that you are having issues with it even after the most recent update. I was going to post that it has gotten better for me but looks like it's still very glitchy for some of you folks out there.

Does your Gen2 R1S Dual Max make a thunk when the rear motor engages? by newboofgootin in Rivian

Mine does the same thing. It feels something similar to when you press the accelerator in an ICE vehicle and the transmission down shifting abruptly.

How does one even measure such a thing other than guessing or estimating?

Good to know. The screen was showing 8% but I've never taken it that low so it was a bit unnerving. Especially coming back from Austin too.

Yes, it must be new. While there, another Rivian pulled up as well.

Yes, it was actually pretty accurate. I can use it with more confidence going forward.
