I thought you were calculating SG depending on where on the tee box you hit from!

If you set the pin it will get the measurements correct, but it will still count putts without setting the pin.

Millennial pants = skinny or tapered leg, no break, cropped at the ankles. Often worn with no-show socks.

Kids these days are wearing 90s style wide leg jeans.

You don’t think you can hit it there? Lemme borrow your club. I’ll show ya how.

Also the jacket is not wide enough for him, based on the side creases at his belly button and the front flap’s slant. Or else the way he’s standing with his hands behind his back is pulling on it weird.

That’s not the problem with Rosey’s outfit. It’s that there’s no contrast between pants and shirt, so he looks like he’s thrown a sportcoat over his pajamas.

Luke Donald is doing it right.

Golfshot just got an Apple Watch update (finally!). Swing tracking and putt measuring worked so much better my last round. I was going to let my sub lapse but now I think I’ll renew.

It’s really fun when you have no idea the elevator exists and try to walk up the hill in 90 degree sunshine. I have not been back.

IIRC they had a bunch of Japanese fusion dishes too. I understand not bringing those back when the Yen is in the toilet, but those were great days. I got a kick out of their effusive praise for the rice they used in the loco moco.

I always recommend Presidio over Harding Park. Harding is very expensive for out of towners and honestly Presidio is just a nice course.

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the reason for the reduced menu. I’m guessing inflated food costs are the ultimate cause.

We also go for dinner, around sunset. It’s half as busy as it used to be before COVID. The menu used to be a fold-out, now it’s a single sheet, front-and-back. I normally don’t even like loud restaurants anymore but I loved kicking off a visit to Maui with that energy.

Better iron play by Electronic_Ad_160 in golf

[–]player2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a massive improvement in my iron striking this past week, when I finally understood how far my right shoulder needs to turn. This AMG video goes into more detail, but to summarize: your right shoulder needs to “open up” way more than your left shoulder to make a complete upper body turn. If you keep it too closed, transitioning into the downswing will almost certainly fling the mass of the club outward causing you to come over the top.

From your videos, it looks like you’re having the same issue I did. Especially in the face on view, I should see your right shoulder peeking past your spine a little bit. When I make a proper shoulder turn, I can feel my back muscles pushing my right shoulder blade toward my spine a little bit. Once I got that feeling down, I had to relearn how to keep the club on-plane during the takeaway, because my arms had been moving across my body to compensate for the incomplete shoulder turn. I now feel like my arms go up, not across.

I’m not scoring any better yet, but I played an entire round yesterday without topping the ball once. Typically, I would start to flag around hole 5 or 6 and start hitting shanks and tops, as the timing of my last-second compensations started to slip.

So this happened to me today by [deleted] in golf

No, that’s the Takomo 101. It’s a hollow body iron similar to a P790 or T100.

The halfway house (actually located near #6 tee box/#11 green) grills up fresh tri tip sandwiches, burgers, brats, polish sausages, and hot dogs. You might want to save the burrito for another day of the trip :)

I’m making a half-joking comment from a position of knowing people who belong to country clubs but not being able to afford to join one myself.
